Have you seen him play? Don't think he can make Varsity?
He will be on the first line, the only question is whether he is F or D.

Uh, I'm no math whiz (he said yet again), but MEDIAN and AVERAGE are very different. I would have never guessed. Median is the middle number of any grouping of numbers. Example: 10, 20, 30, 90, 10000. The median is 30. The average would be 2030. Median is a good way to describe a population since t...

Money matters, but a much bigger factor is size. Wayzata has class sizes of over 900 kids, many of whom are active in some activity. It is much easier to pick competitive teams with a much larger pool of kids (rich or poor). Privates just recruit the top kids so size isn't a factor there. Kids can s...

Don't get so worked up bro, you didn't have to pound out half a novel to get your point across.
Point well taken.

This article is so filled with typical Strib jabs at supposed affluent people and their idiosyncrasies that it is laughable. This article could have been so much better if they would have just taken out all the class warfare jingo and stuck to the facts. Wine tasting, well heeled, corporate sponsors...

In a quirk of fate or in what should be expected, the same six players were all part of the Wayzata peewee A team at the 2011 State Tourney in Faribault. That team lost to Edina in the semifinals, an Edina team led by Newhouse, Jungels, and Kaske. It was actually the 2010 tourney and Fetrow was a B...

Mr. and Ms. Hockey 2013

If Besse wins, then this is probably the first time both players played on the same PW and SQ A team together, but neither one played for their hometown high school.

Did Ness and Erickson play youth together?

Wayzata would go AA and then B-1? I would hate to be the 17-40+ ranked kids knowing that there is an A level out there that would much better suit them. AA/A is a good thing, just let associations make their decisions, not MN hockey. Wayzata has a very deep Bantam group this year and would have bee...

Never said losing was bad, just that losing 90% of the games is counterproductive. A good team mix would have resulted in .500 records which is better for the kids. Of course they will survive.

Maybe what is happening in Wayzata will dispell some of the notion that development is everything and any kid can be great if they are developed the right way. The current Bantam group has excelled at every level and has caused Wayzata to change the rules for the following ages after they finish a l...
