It was actually the 2010 tourney and Fetrow was a B1-2 player. 2011 only Duma and Zimmer were PWAs, Fetrow PW B1, rest bantams. Fetrow was always a B player until first year of HS, hard work and perseverance pay off-good story. In a quirk of fate or in what should be expected, the same six players were all part of the Wayzata peewee A team at the 2011 State Tourney in Faribault. That team lost to Edina in the semifinals, an Edina team led by Newhouse, Jungels, and Kaske.
Mixing fact with fiction Freddy.

I am glad you caught the error on the date of the Faribault tourney.
It gives me the opportunity to point out to the readers that this summer, the majority of the players (they are no longer kids, but players when they are sophomores playing varsity hockey) often played each other in those tourneys so the 2011 tourney in Bloomington and 2010 tourney in Faribault are the part of how the players arrived at where they are today, especially if they are playing selects.
In the story, I did not say Fetrow played for the Wayzata peewee A team, I said the six players who played the select 15s last year played in the 2010 tourney. Fetrow was not a member of District 3’s Select 15 last year. However, if you want I can list the names on the Wayzata teams that played in those two state tourneys and tell what the Trojans did right and wrong in both tourneys especially in their 5-4 overtime loss in the 2010 tourney to Eden Prairie in the third place game.
I actually wrote about that game in 2010. It was the best game of the tourney that year.
But the real point of your comment is what you missed in my post; the fact that Fetrow who didn’t play peewee A hockey and didn’t play selects, played for Wayzata in the Class AA State High School Tourney last March as a 10th grader. He is a good example of why kids should not give up as players.
Thank you for catching the typo.

"The one hiccup"?
Pretty sure that everything that was warned about came true....
More movement of players- Kids didn't want to be left one or even two levels behind.
1-17'S playing against 18-34's- It was BRUTAL!
Playoff format- saw it coming.
Etc.
Results.....
AA- Same
A- Sandbaggers took it.
B-1- Teams made it to state that were wiped off the ice by teams that did nothing in other districts.
Wouldn't mega associations have two A teams given better balance all the way through?
A was the top level. At any time a program could have played B-1, if they figured they'd have little success at A. Where was the need to change? They could of added a B-2 State Tournament if it was about having more.... 5 levels make more sense? Would 6 levels make even more sense? 7?
And now kids on 18-34 A teams are making Advanced teams? What happened in the association tryouts? Yet, small association's 1-17/B-1 level kids are not allowed to tryout..? Wait until you see the movement for next year.
Just make it 5A through 1A to make everyone feel special.

Just added another post to this series. It describes another path for kids who want to stay with hockey beyond high school and did not make the HP-15/16/17. YHH philosophy is that kids become players they still are growing at these ages. This weekend, YHH was nicely surprised to find other set of hockey people who believe that. The post can be read at:

Is long playing for Hill now or do you need an editor "Long just tore the Festival up and is Staum’s teammate at Hill-Murray.
