Hearing from some pretty reliable sources Jake Wahlin has decommitted from Umass. Surprising being that him committing there in the first place had a lot to do with his brother going there as well. Interested to see where he ends up now. Dang it, I thought I had the WBL-Amherst pipeline all set up....

Diverse mediocrity is fun? Teams you don't care about certainly aren't any fun. New faces certainly are fun. The game is a battle for pride between two towns/neighborhoods. The only thing that could be "mediocre" is lack of fight in the players or lack of passion in the community's fans.

Absolutely. New faces are always a good thing. The primary knock against the State Tournament is that it's mostly the same teams every year for decades, which is a bore for everyone except the fans of those few teams.

Sure, but even their overall records in recent decades are only about 0.500 or less. I'm not sure how competitive they were before that.

Wow, I just noticed Bloomington Kennedy is in Class A. Since my high school days watching the tourney were in the 1980's, that's quite a shock. I guess things have changed in 20-30 years.
