Looking at this comment: 2- Build more neighborhood rinks in the winter so that most people have a rink close to them , have them open until late with a warmhouse. My response: I don't think the Twin Cities has an issue when it comes to finding outdoor rinks. Anywhere you are in the Twin Cities, yo...

Wow thanks for the info, I have to say I am impressed at the fact that metropolitan council can get sued over not scattering affordable housing... I find that very unpleasant to say it politely ! Anyways not gonna get started on the political discussions, it was more about hockey and how people on ...

Demographics / Social evolution & Hockey Associations
It's been said several times how change in demographics and wealth tend to affect hockey associations' numbers, I wonder where the Twin cities suburbs are headed in terms of demographics and wealth, does anybody know how 2nd ring suburbs are changing ? -Blaine -Maple Grove -Plymouth ( not wayzata , ...

By the way, I would usually say Wayzata Trojans are a big disappointment year in and year out but this year they're doing ok so far. They beat Edina, they beat Tonka at home and beat EP at home tonight, I don't know if it's a sign of improvement or if it's mostly due to Edina having an off year but ...

Will Toronto Maple Leafs win a cup in the next 15 years ?
Title says it all, Toronto Maple Leafs have been horrible for so many years , but recently they made big moves inside the organization to try to turn it around, they added Lou Lamoriello, Brendan Shanahan and Mike Babcock. Do you think these will manage to turn around the Maple leafs and win a cup i...

1) No. They need to get rid of current HC and keep more of talent they have in HS to do so. I'm curious, what do you both think is the problem with Patrick O'Leary ? Is it his system ? Not to mention, O'Leary has an embarrassment of riches with that youth/feeder system in Wayzata. He's gotta find a...

I think Grand Rapids will surprise and take this one, especially if they play as good as yesterday. I'm predicting 5-3 GR. Which would make the Hornets effort last night look a bit better, since periods one and three were toss ups anyway. :D I'm going with GR 4-3.... in OT! No better time than toni...

Zoochu, yes of course I was there and I wrote what I remembered and saw last night. You make some good points however, and people have different impressions. Regarding the blown Rapids D which resulted in some two on one chances by the Hornets in the first period which helped equalize SOGS: althoug...

GR dominated for 2 1/2 periods before letting off the gas in the final 6 minutes. 1st 8 minutes off the game Edina could not get the puck out of their own end. Not enough scoring depth on Edina and the D and Goalie are very questionable beyond Phillips and Johnson. Still look to see Edina get much ...

A few additional thoughts on this one: o a healthy Adams makes a big diff. The kid has been greatly underrated with so many big names on the Thawks o. why Giles scheduled 12 days between games in mid Dec is beyond me. Took a long time for Hornets skaters to get into game flow , and goaltender hadn'...

Tough loss for Edina. First period, they played decent, but took too long to get into the game, missed on a couple of great opportunities early (which cost them the game in the end) , made a mistake which led to GR getting a shorthanded goal but came back strong on the forecheck putting GR's defense...

No worries. I have to say I'm surprised about 3 things : 1) Wayzata not having won a State title with such numbers. 2) Maple Grove not doing better with almost the same numbers as Wayzata. 3) Minnetonka not having won a state title, with a great youth association as well. Is anybody surprised about ...

random thoughts below: O really thought Blaine would win it, after seeing them beat Edina at Braemar. Tonite, Bengals found a way to get a big lead on away ice against No. 1 . But couldn't protect it , which is a must at this level of ranking . And I'm not laying it all on goaltending, he did his p...
