Rapids is bringing it. Love it!

I initially pegged Rapids first goal on the Sherman suspension, but looking back, the positioning in goal was pretty good. Just a well-placed shot.

Thoughts:

-For a hockey-centric school, I guess I expected more out of Gentry.
-What does this say about 4AA?
-Tonka is rollin'!

I miss these opens and the music videos the schools did in the 80s. Added a little more pizazz to the tourney.

The biggest problem I have with seeding is the reliance on head-to-head matchups to rank over how teams are playing now. A game played in late November is no barometer with what happens now. I would rather take the NCAA’s approach of a NPI-type system.

I had 6 and 7 flipped, otherwise how I thought AA would go.

Does Gentry win mean Rapids likely plays Rosemount? Not saying it does or should for that matter. I think it falls that way. As much of a run it’s been, I don’t think LvS, Andover, or Gentry leapfrog over GR. Those three teams weren’t top 20 in the LPH rankings at season’s end. State seeds tend to ...

I’m doing 8^8 = $16,777,216 next year just to be at the finish line and take my chances no one else crosses.

Technical issues aside, I’ve enjoyed the production quality of the broadcast. Multiple camera angles, a scorebug in sync with the scoreboard, and Jeff Papas as the VOX. One of my favorites.

With the way the sections have rolled so far, not totally surprised, but surprised WBL doesn’t at least have a goal after two periods.

Tonka has largely dominated play, but Chan holding their own, 2-1 Tonka halfway through the 2nd.

O'Leary is a great coach, just in a tough section. Had Wayzata been in say, 5AA, they would had Maple Grove to contend with and I have no doubt they would have made more state tourney appearances. Heck, they might have been building a statue of O'Leary outside of PIC when it was all said and done!

Agree that EP pretty much met expectations. I think most people saw them as a 3 or 4 seed in the section. Definitely had the streaky ups and downs of a young team. Puck luck found Edina's way. The first Edina goal was one of the flukiest goals I've ever seen in a while. Edina did play better second half of the game and found a way to shutdown Wayzata. Giles' crew gets it done again.

Color me shocked! Rosemount did a great job of locking down STA. Seemed like STA had some trouble moving the puck around with their sticks too. Wonder if the Irish had a chip on their shoulder from all the chatter of being the #1 seed over STA?

If Hill advances to state, I think the 4 vs 5 is Hill vs. Edina/Wayzata. If chalk, Tonka, Moorhead, STA would get some combo of the 1AA, 5AA, and 7AA winners.
