Why does a team like Burnsville fall off as the season progresses is a tough question and one that is often debated? I believe that it is the result of trying to be fair in the tryout process that often results in kids making the team because they showed up to just make the team. That is their goal...

Although he isn't coaching high school anymore, I'd suggest Dave Dochniak, used to be at Harding when they still fielded a team. Be great to see him step into Stillwater, that is if Phil decides to head elsewhere. It will be interesting to see if Housley stays or goes next year. If he does leave I ...

Yea, they came out slow and gave up 3 pretty quick and then had to take chances to try and get back into the game. The game was early and they had a late game the night before but they still have no reason to not come out strong every game. They had a similar slow start the night before against the ...

Brett Larsen was actually the better goaltender in the Elite II South game vs. U18 Blades. He was the reason that the E2 team was able to tie the Blades in regulation and win in a shoot out. Wilcox was outstanding over most of the weekend but let in a couple of goals against Elite II South that he ...

Are there only 10 teams in this tourney? That seems like an odd number. Were they unable to fill it? Just wondering.

Big improvement on the current sections. Obviously there are some minor changes that need to be made but at least sections are more balanced than current sections. I've found the story interesting because it shows the good and bad of leaving H.S. hockey. For players out there thinking that they'd like to pursue hockey at the highest level you get the other side of it including the fun things that you miss. Leaving home, school, classmates and friends behind to...

Lakeville South came out of a section that had NO TOP 20 TEAMS. It is a joke! I hope that LS does well but expect that they will lose big time as would any team from Section 1 which is the ONLY section without a top 20 representative. At least Cloquet had a couple of top 20 teams that they had to ge...

Roseau has experience on their side. They have been there and won before and know what it takes. I think they have one of the best goalies in the state and Blaine has a decent team but not one that can beat Roseau.

Why...what do you think??

Should be the best game of the first 4. Benilde has the edge but this one could go either way. I like Benilde by 4-3 score just because they really showed something in the Minnetonka game. They could be the dark horse of the tournament.

Lakeville is lucky to get Hill in the draw. Other teams would have slaughtered them by at least 6 goals. Hill will only beat them by 4 with a final score of 5-1. Lakeville South should not be in this tournament. They have just over a .500 record and teams like Minnetonka, Burnsville and Rosemount de...
