Armstrong won the game in the last 40 seconds. Good game with lots of action. Armstrong caught Jefferson off guard early and was able to hang on for the win.

New Prague made a valient effort but BV was too big and too good. NP looked to have a bench of only 12 skaters and one or two were injured during the game. Great effort by the ones who played to try and battle but they were overmatched.
Tourney started tonight with 2 Bantam A games and 2 PWA games. Bantam games had a victory by BV over New Prague and Armstrong over Jefferson. PWA games had a victory by BV over Jefferson and AV over Lakeville in a shootout.
One of the Apple Valley parents told me that their manager sent in the check to play in the tournament and burnsville lost it, then sent it back to them so AV didn't get to play. Sounds to me like someone wanted to win their own tournament and Apple Valley would have been a major road-block for them.

I wonder who told you that story...I don't think BV is that worried about the team from AV that they would "lose a check". You have a pretty inventive imagination!
