Coaches Helmets and Certification
Does your association still require helmets for coaches on the ice? I was at an arena this weekend where none of the coaches had helmets on. On that same not does your association verify the coaching certification or are both the helmet and certification requirements not watched very close anymore?

Offsides in Mites
Does your association call offsides in Mite scrimmages or do you let it go? It seems to be a difference among towns in our area, I know the USA Hockey handbook for mites says they should be taught offsides at the mite level.

Re: post 8428
so what are the raiders gonna have this winter. Guyer and Ohrn That doesn't seem to be enough. You could possibly throw in Nick Adams. Not great, but is a good sized kid who plays hard. Going to be a tough season for the Greenies which is too bad. Thanks for Underwood though. Kid's a great tender w...

Disingenuous, maybe. I didn't know his story prior to reading that strib article. In any case it sounds like he is a product of the Roseau youth system to a large degree. Who else could "claim" him? I only mentioned it because the thread topic is which HIGH SCHOOL produced the most NHL pl...

Is the Hockey Stop Gone
I am coaching a 2nd year mini-mite team, and was a little surprised to realize we were teaching these kids the incorrect way to stop (By USA hockey Standards). We had been teaching them the good old 2 foot hockey stop. But from looking through the training materials, they don't teach that anymore, i...

Something like that might work for the metro teams, but in the north where numbers are lower they would only be allowed to compete as B teams, yet they might have a top A1 team.

Dryland Training
Does anyone know of a good dryland training program for youth age kids (Mites up to Bantams)? Are there any good online guides out there as a baseline or suggestions for things to work on. I have ideas on some things but was just wondering since it is becoming so popular these days, what other progr...
