I'd like to see the rankings, unlike section 8 section 1's aren't posted anywhere I can find. Without providing any source information what did the Post Bulletin writer use to get his information? In past years section 1 has been very private about their seedings what changed? Without providing who...

Celebrity Golf Tournement and Hockey Game in Faribault
I encourage everyone to attend this event as the Faribault Youth Hockey Association, Shattuck St. Mary's, and most of all the celebrity hockey players and coaches really put on a great show. The golf tournement and banquet is July 13th with the celebrity hockey game July 30th. The list of players at...

Re: Big Deal
What's the big deal....Big NINE hockey suck's conference wide! It would be something if these guy's were going somewhere where there was talent and the team was a top 20 team. I haven't checked in a couple of weeks but I don't think theres a B9 team in Minn Hock's top 40! For those involved I am su...

As Jackstraw said, this guy has never been affiliated with the (Southern) Minnesota Junior Mavericks AAA organization based out of Albert Lea. The Junior Mavericks are a well run organization and one of the oldest independent AAA organizations in the state, albiet not at the caliber of the Blades, M...

On the RYHA website I see that Rochester is fielding only one PeeWee A team this year, as opposed to two teams last year. In fact they will only field one B1 team, with the rest divided between B2 and C. My guess is that one reason for the switch is in response to the both teams losing to a district...

Re: AL Thunder
It seems the G.M. and the coaching staff just realized who they are really working with.jackstraw wrote:Looking more like the Western Chicago Tier 3 NAHL Thunder. I hope the coaching staff can pull this team out from under the wings of a ridiculously inept "Director of Hockey Operations".

Has anyone heard anything about the two openings down south, Austin and Faribault? I have not heard much on either position. As far as Faribault goes, I do know they had a lot applications to go through. The one name I did hear who was getting consideration was Chris Prescott who was an assistant a...

In The Hockey News' current prospects 2008 issue a few scouts used Wheeler as an example of why taking a chance and drafting U.S. high school prospects so high in the draft is a mistake. Overall, in the eyes of the scouts, it sounds like he hurt the reputation of the ability of high school hockey pl...

Why would the Faribault coach leave down there if the team should be good in the future? Interesting choice... Maybe he didn't have a choice. Never know The Faribault teacher's (Solem is a Social Studies teacher) are still without a contract and the situation is very tense. Without going into detai...

Faribault High School head coach Josh Solem accepted the Monticello head coaching position. Good for him and Monticello, bad for Bemidji. Hopefully Faribault can attract a quality coach. The Faribault varsity has 15 returning players, 12 of whom saw significant minutes this past season. There is al...

Slapshot88 sure is opinionated and somewhat jaded (simply based upon their comments on the board), but I do agree that D1 is indeed down (and soon to be out) with the exception of a nice team from Mpls. Park. The Storm can/will compete in the South Regional next weekend at Chaska. Aside from the St...

Re: ctbrow1
faribault DOES NOT have a best 100 peewee player in the state. I will leave it at that since these kids are under 14.. YOU ARE WRONG. They do have 10 of the dirtiest 100 players. toucha Since these kids are under 14 you take the high ground, but you go on to call them "dirty". Are you ret...

Congrats to Mankato West. Big 9 Champions! Three years ago they finished in a tie for 10th, quite a turn-around. First team outside of Rochester in 15 years. I would think Rochester will be back in the hunt next year tho, as Mayo i think, returns their whole team. I also was looking back on this th...

Re: Kennedy
These guys need to opt to play in Class A. They are the worst program in D6 at the youth level. Are you old enough to remember the battles between Minnetonka (I assume that is where you are from judging by your use of Skipperville) and Kennedy youth hockey teams back in the 80's and early 90's, the...

My wife warned that it could get foggy tonight. I thought about that as I headed down 35W again, the holy freeway. The drive would be shorter this time. I was headed for Faribault to watch them play Mankato in a key D4 game. Both teams had impressive records. Mankato was unbeaten in league play at ...
