Teams to look out for next year
Maple Grove's issue will be, "who is coaching their Bantam As next year?" They are still without a formal coach.

shhockey33 -- Re: teams to look out for next year
I'd add Maple Grove to that list. They've got 6 returners from this years A team, some decent B1s coming up that won a couple of tournaments and had wins against Edina Green, Duluth East, Blaine, and 3 outta 4 against Blake. As Peewee As they were one overtime away from beating Edina to go to State....

Blake 3
Hopkins 2

It was all the Brunette show. He was NEVER off the ice. I think he may have had all three goals. There's coaching genius.

Hopkins on the other hand had two of the silliest goals I've seen in a while. On one, the kid was on a breakaway, fell just short of the goalie...

D3 Bantam B Playoffs MG v Blake
Maple Grove beat them for the third time 3-2 in OT. Brunette looked awfully strong scoring both of Blake's goals.

best and worst refs
H R-

I for one have seen primarily well refed games. Absolute more times than not you don't even notice them as they're just doing their jobs. I also have seen more games than I can count where I saw an exceptional job done. Whether it was handling a situation, player, coach, or parent, you j...

Duluthhockeyfan RE: Homer Refs
First, strongly agree several D6 refs have major issues which MUST get addressed.

Second, our teams are never so consistently 'homered' as by Duluth refs, unless of course it's in Rochester. Homer refs reflect embarassingly on the host and are a disservice to the hard working kids on the ice,...

Re: helmets
Goofy as it looked the first time I saw it, it unfortunately makes sense. Collisions are the first way it could happen, but who hasn't caught on edge trying to skate backward to get out of the way? You fall backward and squarely hit the back of your head on the ice and it can do some damage, even ki...
