This thread always gets shut down. not sure how you can say D8 are great, but thats why god created opinions. Every game varies and refs are human.

Re: Best and Worst Ref's
D6's try to take control of every game. They are terrible.

D3's are very up and down. There are 3 or 4 of the refs that try to take complete control of the kids game. There are a few others that are very good though.
.

Re: Best and Worst Ref's
I went to watch Richfield and Johnson so I could check out Johnson's best player. He did not play but I stayed through 2 periods and the two refs must have been 1st year guys they only called a few penalties but missed alot more. Richfield had all they could do to stay with Johnson when I left Johnson had a 5 minute penalty but I did not hear what for and did not see any infraction. Shots at that time were pretty one sided.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... cypalms at: 2/7/06 3:07 pm

Re: Best and Worst Ref's
District 6 refs are the worst........there is no question, that is why there have been teams that have pulled out of D6 tournaments throughout the year.

If there was an actual poll taken on this I would be willing to bet that D6 refs would be voted worst 2 to 1.

Re: refs
It's not as easy as someone might think, and also they're just people. And people make mistakes, even more mistakes if there is only two of them.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Maker12 at: 2/8/06 9:54 am

Re: refs
You know most of us are volunteer coaches even though more and more are getting paid for coaching. When a paid associate cannot do his job, FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: refs
Well put big7*,
I didn't even think about the fact that the refs are getting paid to do thier job. I don't know of any coaches that get paid to coach youth hockey.

Re: refs
Some of the coaches I have heard and talked to about this get between $5000 and $7000 dollars that should more than cover hotels and gas. Most JV high school coaches don't get that much.

Re: Big7stars
I personaly know a coach that ten years ago at a TC Bantam team was getting $5000, And that was ten years ago. One hockey coordinator at one association in the TC district is paying her $25,000 a year.

Re: Big7stars
I only know one association that has that kind of money.

$25,000 to run an association

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!!!!!!

No way does someone make that much money just to run a hockey association.

I think a call to Channel 9 News is in order.

Re: $25,000
Maybe that is why the ref calls always go there way. Do you think? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Are there colors red, white and blue?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... arado23 at: 2/8/06 3:03 pm

Re: $25,000
That doesn't sound quite right.
We have trouble keeping associations afloat, there aren't any that can afford to pay people like that.

Re: Red, White and Blue
If the TC district breaks up and they send out associations, make sure the Red, White and Blue get put in D2. There isn't enough money in any of the other ones.

Re: Red, White and Blue
Well TC pres maybe someone <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:"> better call channel 9 it is right in front of your face and has been for awhile. Unless you are not use to facing things when you are taking it.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... cypalms at: 2/8/06 3:22 pm

Re: $25,000
Word on the street is that the RYHA (Rochester) pays their director (a former JM Rocket, Gopher and NHL'er) to the tune of $50k/year.

Re: Red, White and Blue
There is only one orginization in the TC district that could pay out that much money and they sit HIGH on the land if you know what I mean.

Re: Red, White and Blue
where would any district get an extra 25-50K to pay someone- and if they did have the money why would their membership allow it.
