This thread always gets shut down. not sure how you can say D8 are great, but thats why god created opinions. Every game varies and refs are human.

D6's try to take control of every game. They are terrible.

D3's are very up and down. There are 3 or 4 of the refs that try to take complete control of the kids game. There are a few others that are very good though.
.

I went to watch Richfield and Johnson so I could check out Johnson's best player. He did not play but I stayed through 2 periods and the two refs must have been 1st year guys they only called a few penalties but missed alot more. Richfield had all they could do to stay with Johnson when I left Johnson had a 5 minute penalty but I did not hear what for and did not see any infraction. Shots at that time were pretty one sided.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... cypalms at: 2/7/06 3:07 pm

District 6 refs are the worst........there is no question, that is why there have been teams that have pulled out of D6 tournaments throughout the year.

If there was an actual poll taken on this I would be willing to bet that D6 refs would be voted worst 2 to 1.

It's not as easy as someone might think, and also they're just people. And people make mistakes, even more mistakes if there is only two of them.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Maker12 at: 2/8/06 9:54 am

You know most of us are volunteer coaches even though more and more are getting paid for coaching. Well put big7*,
I didn't even think about the fact that the refs are getting paid to do thier job. I don't know of any coaches that get paid to coach youth hockey.

I know of youth coaches that get paid to coach.
BUT, that Might (if lucky) cover the hotel room costs and about 1/3 to 1/2 of the gas to games over the course of the season. It's basically a partial reimbursment.

Some of the coaches I have heard and talked to about this get between $5000 and $7000 dollars that should more than cover hotels and gas. Most JV high school coaches don't get that much.

Most Varsity coaches don't get that. What area are these guys from. 5 to 7 thousand dollars is enough to make me change associations. JK

I personaly know a coach that ten years ago at a TC Bantam team was getting $5000, And that was ten years ago. One hockey coordinator at one association in the TC district is paying her $25,000 a year.

Maybe that is why the ref calls always go there way. That doesn't sound quite right.
We have trouble keeping associations afloat, there aren't any that can afford to pay people like that.

If the TC district breaks up and they send out associations, make sure the Red, White and Blue get put in D2. There isn't enough money in any of the other ones.

Word on the street is that the RYHA (Rochester) pays their director (a former JM Rocket, Gopher and NHL'er) to the tune of $50k/year.

There is only one orginization in the TC district that could pay out that much money and they sit HIGH on the land if you know what I mean.
