I have been following HA hockey for over 11 years now and followed both the Polacek boys during that time. I don't know the family personally but have heard many good things and one thing I have heard is that they are not out there promoting themselves and I highly doubt that Connor Polacek started ...

I was at the game last night. It was intense. Good crowd. The biggest difference I saw after the first was that Edina had legs to move and AHA did not. AHA couldn't move their feet, make a pass or #9 (Riley) get it out of the zone. #4 Riley looked scared most of the time in the AHA defensive zone an...

In four years they were at Chaska, Breck, BSM and AHA. You missed the point. It was designed for them to be showcased from the moment they went to AHA and yes it is very important for it to continue. You don't understand the politics of hockey if you don't understand that. I have been watching HS ho...

Rumor has it that the problem with this team is that it is designed to showcase the Riley brothers and therefore has no team chemistry. There is talent onthis team so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Gopher recruits

Just saw the article about the Reilly twins being picked up by the Gophers. I am a little confused by the statement in the article that "they both played on the top line for the Stars last season". The forwards I watched on the top line last season at AHA were Danny Mattson and John Hague....

Zamman--I have coached the game and I have to disagree with you. I have seen several of the games this year and that power play did not work and it hasn't worked all season. Everyone in the stands where I was sitting was talking about it. All they needed to do was not let them score on the their own...

If you take away the 2 short handed goals and empty netter it was an even game. The formation and combination of players on those power plays has not worked for some time now and my point was if you can't see that and make the necessary changes you pay the price like they did yesterday. AHA has had ...

I have been watching AHA for over 15 years now. I have seen several AHA games this year . The team held Edina's first line from scoring during the game 5 on 5 but gave up 2 short handed goals and then an empty netter. Take those goals away and it was 1-1. The AHA power play has struggled since mid s...

The way kids are played on teams has everything do with their promotion. Kids that are placed on higher lines, PP and PK even if they are not as talented are the ones the schools are going after and the ones getting the press. It starts in Squirts, Peewees and Bantams when the parents are in control...

chrisk my point is that putting an article such as that on the front page for 5 days makes the topic way more important than it is. The pressure these KIDS are under is enormous. I could name previous players who have come and gone from that program and are struggling to survive in normal day life r...

I am sure Nick is a great kid and I am sure he is a good player but it just seems off that 5 feature front page articles would be devoted to this story. Something is off with our media, our society and our families. No wonder so many kids are doing drugs and their is so much trouble in our world tod...

The shot did go in and came out. Everyone in our section saw it too. I am not a Minnetonka fan. I am actually glad that they lost. I think both the Gardniers are overrated and I think someone has done an excellent job promoting them. I do think BSM seemed very flat until the 3rd but they found a way...

IMO there were many things that contributed to this loss. Tired players in the second and third. One pair of upper class men D having a very tough day. A goalie who could have given up a few less goals. Forwards who didn't finish and didn't back check. It is too early to tell about this team but don...

Nonskipper2 first you say he was offered a scholarship to UMD then you go on to say he had "strong interest from UND and Duluth". Which one is it? Was a scholarship offered or was it strong interest or something else entirely??? Your addition trumps.

Doesn't really seem likely that Wisconsin would pick him up after switching positions and not being able to follow him...last year he was a sub in the Elite league...seems very odd if it is true.
