boblee - but have you seen Blake? Doing pretty good top to bottom I'd say with great team speed and several players piling up the points. Solid goaltending too from Gallager, an east coast transfer that I'd put right up there with Jondal, the other new goalie in the minnesota scene. With a nice win ...

The Blake girls look forward each year to playing conference rival Breck at least twice. Great rivalry, and the fact that Breck has improved its team noticeably the past couple of years makes the competition even better. :D Breck's offense is hard to shut down, they have not just one stud but severa...

3x3 at Velocity Hockey
They have been doing 3x3 hockey at Velocity Hockey Center in Eden Prairie for about a year now. The league runs spring through fall and is at all levels from Squirt and U10s all the way up to high school. Our Blake girls have been participating and even though they sometimes don't get too many kids ...

Brano Stankovsky
Coach Brano Stankovsky of Blake is 2nd to none. This is a guy who not only knows the game of hockey so well but also knows how to get girls to respond to his coaching. there are a lot of coaches out there that come from the boys side and they don't know how to handle the emotions of a girls locker r...

the Chute sisters
It is worth the price of gas plus the cost of admission to see the Chute sisters in action. Over this season they have developed an uncanny knack of knowing exactly where the other is on the ice, which leads to some amazing plays. And if a sister isn't open, well then Sally Komarek is right there ca...

Blake will prevail
Must vote for my Bears of course :D But I think it may be closer than some are predicting. My gut says 6-3, but that may be a stretch. The girls are really looking forward to this one and so are the parents of course. It may come down to goaltending. I predict there will be more than a few goals. Ne...

Re: weak
Wow - he even let the 3rd liners penalty kill when he got up by 6 in the third period and there were still no shots on goal? What an inspiration. But hey I'm sure that that 8th goal with two minutes left to play really helped get the girls ready for there next tilt. When another team can't e...

Re: Box Score
Anyone see the Blake/St. Paul Saints box score in the pioneer press? I haven't seen a game with no shots on goal before. The shot count is correct, it was zero. Amen. Blake rarely plays its third line - against BSM they were only out there for a few seconds the entire game. I hope that wasn't the c...

Blake over Wayzata
The OT goal was not controversial at all. If you were standing on the side of the rink at the glass like I was, you'd have seen the puck dribbled right in to the back of the net and then one ref blew the whistle. The only thing that confused fans in the stands was that ref was slow to signal the goa...
