It is unbelievable the amount of bravado you have to have to beat up an unwilling goalie in front of thousands of people, then have the nerve to flip the double bird to the crowd. At least daddy was in the crowd to protect him. I wish that defenseman would have got to him, instead of the ref getting...

I saw Rob Vannelli on the players to watch for defensemen. He is a good player, but certainly not Gopher caliber.

Jonathon Roy Fight

Last Saturday Jonathon Roy basically assaulted an opposing goalie. I have played hockey most of my life, and I will be the first one on my feet when two enforcers want to square off or if two WILLING participants want to duke it out. However, the fight you see in the video is not so much a fight, bu...

How about the state tournament? They played 3 quality teams and put up big points. Walters had 9pts in 3 games, Saintey and Rooney each had 7pts in 3 games. Strength of schedule doesn't get much stronger than the state tourney.

I agree. Saintey is fun to watch. Great hands and solid on his skates. It was exciting to watch Walters, Saintey and Rooney light up the scoreboard this year. Last I heard Walters was going to the USHL, but I haven't heard about Rooney. Where is he playing? You would think a guy with 60pts would cat...

Couldn't agree more RoyalTreatment. It is posters like CNT who detract from the accomplishments of these kids. The players have nothing to say about which class they play in, but 40 year olds with a lifetime of regrets sit on their computer and knock the state champions. These kids work every bit as...

I think Ness & the Rams might have something to say about the Pioneers going to the final. After 2 days of quarterfinals, in my opinion, Roseau is the best team in AA. You would have to be pretty foolish to look past them.

It's been said that knowone else except for the Hanowskis live in the area, so I'm guessing nobody left. STA deserved to loose today. They played bad, and if you think otherwise, then you're the moron. If your spelling is any indication, I would guess your a product of a outstate public school. Han...

Wow....this is a really interesting topic. I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned on here before. I actually just puked in my mouth a little. Why don't they just make a sticky thread at the top of the page for why STA should move up. That way we could confine the same old arguements to one thread,...

Too bad overdone goal celebrations don't win games. All in all though, was very impressed with Ben Hanowski. Little Falls looked like a top tier team. Glad to see them in the tourney again.

I saw on the media guide that Noah Gavin is on the first line of STA. Is that true and should it be true? How's he doing? It wouldn't surpise me. He is a very good player. I am guessing the Vannelli's are trying to deepen their lines. Walter's will probably be on the first line with Gavin and most ...

Some of you northeners have too much time on your hands up there. Maybe you have watched a few too many episodes of X-Files. There is no conspiracy against northern teams. Most northern teams are the pride of Minnesota. Basically, the hierarchy of high school hockey teams goes as follows in this sta...

The #1 seed could have gone either way. Marshall is obviously a good squad, and came to Mendota Heights with a chip on their shoulder. The 8-2 game is a bad example of how good either team is. STA is obviously better than that score reflected and Duluth Marshall is not "running time" bette...

I hear you no excuses, but I think STA has to man up here in a few years, and step up to AA, then we can see what they are actually made of. I completely agree. If they continue to have the same success for a couple more years, then they should absolutely move up to AA. Everyone seems to forget tha...

Don't forget Rooney (#18 ), Saintey (#21), and Isaackson (#14). STA is pretty deep and has some fun guys to watch. Rooney is fast. Saintey and Isaackson have some ridiculous hands.

It is real easy to talk big when you are already the underdog, because no one will say anything when Little Falls loses. Face facts, if it was a public school team that was as good as STA is, this thread would be about Little Falls' tough draw. Poor Flyers. Instead, all the mouth pieces come out of ...

I agree, it was sad to see SSP have such a good year and end it with a tactless move like leaving before the Cadets got their awards. Disappointment is understandable, but despite what people think of STA they would never pull a stunt like that. STA seems to bring out the worst in teams.

I have STA winning this one. However, SSP is a good team and frankly scare me a little. It should be a good game. I don't see a running time game. I say 5-2 in a game that is closer than the score will indicate.
