Carlson released from Fairbanks? Will he be back with Albert Lea for the playoffs? Rookie, I'm pretty sure you know the MSHSL rule on this one and are just being sarcastic, but for those who don't know the rule, once he played with the Fairbanks team after the high school season started, he is inel...

A bit off the topic, I see Eric Carlson from AL has only played 5 games since 11-26-11, for Fairbanks in the NAHL. Anyone know if he has been injured? Sick? It would just seem strange to leave high school early and not dress every game. Just wondering, I hope all is going well for him. I heard he w...

I got the Scarlets winning 3-0 over AL tonight. Here is a great article that details the book to be released next month about the 94/95 Mankato West Scarlet Hockey team. I expect this will be a must read for southern MN hockey fans. http://www.wisconsinprephockey.net/news_article/show/114536?refe...

The Exiled One's post above clearly states.... SR F Eric Carlson Albert Lea Fairbainks-NAHL Gotta keep your head up!;) This player didn't even make the High school elite team. He was on the tryout team but not on the final teams roster? How is going to JRS going to benefit this player if he didn't ...

Troy Hesketh was a 3rd round draft pick by Edmonton Oilers. He played in the USHL last year. Rumor was that he was de-committed from Wisconsin. Regardless, I would doubt he would play in the NA. Why would a team waste a pick like that? Matt Kaiser played for the development program and ended up pla...

Just some thoughts.... The better team won, not to disrespect New Prague in anyway. Had they played the first two periods they way they played the third it may have been a different game. They were pretty defensive the first two, once they opened it up they Lourdes on their heels a bit. The power p...

How about Ryan Walters? He's in his third full season in the USHL. Granted, he's committed to the Gophers, BUT, if he plays in the USHL again next year, did he really gain anything? Was it worth being away from home and missing out on the high school experience? I know it's a hard decision for thes...

As mentioned above, these are not necessarily the elite hockey players from MN or any other state. The families do however have access to to a lot of money. The kids that play for these AAA u16 and u18 teams pay about $8,000 a season to play. The teams that they play against are from all over the c...

Is it true that Darren Lapic, the little brother who also skated on the first line is leaving New Prague next year to play juniors? I have not heard that. I do know he was drafted in the late rounds by Topeka in the NAHL, but a lot of players get drafted who won't play in the league. His brother, I...

2pipsnin - appreciate your insight into all of this. Curious - does it make any sense for a kid who was not drafted in the USHL draft to attend the invite camps when they are still two years out or should they wait a year and see what kind of options they are looking at then? Just wondering how sma...

How has Blake Thompson's year been? I know it doesn't look like points have been good but, that doesn't necessarily say it all. Points as in plural? Try point. Looks like he shot the puck less than once a game. Had to be a lot of fun http://www.sfstampede.com/index.php?option=com_hockey&task=st...

Re: Select 17 Section 1
The final 54 shows how poor of a job the so called coaches in section 1 did, they were awful Really, the coaches fault that more kids did not make the final 54. Last year those same coaches coached the team that won the tourney and sent 4 kids to the 17's National Development camp. I'd say the kids...

looking at the Big Nine Conference Boys Hockey Website, I see that Jordan Yaggys season stats are 2.953 GAA and .893 save%, and Eric Wobschalls season stats are 3.213 GAA and .868 save%, and these are the two goalies for this section in the Great 8, and yet Adam Trautman from Mankato West who has s...

Section 1, select 17 has been selected. Oh wait, most of the Elite 2 section 1 fall team was chosen by the head coach of the Elite team and how ironic that he is the Select 17 Section 1 coach. Ummmm not quite sure how that works. Approx 13 players from the Elite 2 team made the Select team. Not muc...
