ACTUALFORMERPLAYER - who said i played in the NHL? cause i know i didn't. i simply pointed out that i've been in a situation like this one. if i had not chosen to leave early, i know i would have always wondered what would have happened if i did. i don't know how you assumed that i played in the NHL...

it seems like there are a few people disappointed with Lee's choice. this is a good deal for him. if he didn't allow the force to tenure him he would have been drafted in the ushl draft this year, and probably not by the force. Which means the next closest team to roseau (in the USHL) is Green Bay. ...

a part of the reason a lot of people from the northern half of the state is because a lot of the prospects from the nothern part of the state go to north dakota. that and maybe because the guy who is credited for starting the program in 1947 is from warroad, Cal Marvin.

5thgraders - if you didn't notice, when they do the 1st day pairings, they try to put two decent teams with one weaker team. this way they weed out those weaker teams right away. If you can imagine it's still a little hard to predict how good a team of 10 year olds are going to be, even more so if y...

Oldram - Dion Hebel was from spraque wasn't he? Where else would he play? haha pretty sure the hasbargens moved for a certain job opening to run the arena, albert and rita ran that place for years (kids where all in youth hockey when they moved). I remember the Axelsson kid, wasn't he the goalie? If...

My guess is that the martells followed wyatt to warroad, it paid off for them. my guess is that their main reasons for making the move would have been coaching, brand new arena at the time, a better than average chance to go to state maybe.

the ravndalen boy was from warroad before he moved to baudette, then came back to warroad for hs. I know Chris Knapp is a cousin to PJ Stodgell who graduated the same year and was also a hockey player. T.J. Oshie also has a significant amount of family in warroad, for those who didn't know he's rela...

its great to be able to practice for two hours a day with some of the best players in the state, and to spend more time after that a couple times a week to skate with former junior/college/pro players. but unless they're packin the memorial for that ice time it's probably not gonna help him get used...

From what i've heard, the jets will eventually move. I know the owner is from Woodbury and i think they are building a new arena there. So that's a good possibility for a location change.

I've seen Lee play and ive been pretty impressed although im not convinced quite yet. he has already made him self an excellent high school goalie, but when you get to the junior/college/profesional levels goaltending is all about that thing that sits on top of your sholders. i know that it's pretty...

a couple more possible NHL'ers for warroad would be Corwin Saurdiff and Wyatt Smith. Although i think Wyatt moved to warroad in bantams. Corwin left high school early to play juniors, but did play some high school hockey there. I'm pretty sure Corwin played at least one game for San Jose.

not saying that warroad couldn't make it to the state championship game, but this warroad team is not close to the chamionship teams they've had in the past. this team lacks the skill from a defensive stand point. they aren't very deep, and they aren't very consistant in goal. they do have some fire...

just kind of thinking about this for a minute and my stats say that among the teams along highway 11 there's a grand total of 18 state championships and 71 state tournament appearances, although not all of those are AA, they're still some pretty good numbers. Is there any other highway in the state ...

"the exiled one" false assumptions? you name one goalie that played in the nhl in the 1940's(Frank Brimsek), Maybe two (Lopristi), and all of a sudden that makes st. cloud above average for goaltending. And you're right i dont know if it's Lee's dream to play in the NHL, that's why i used ...

From what ive seen of mike lee... he's an excellent goalie. but why would you choose st. cloud? and why so early? i heard people say it takes pressure off kids if they commit early, but i still don't see the point. Exspecially from a goalies standpoint. If a goalie wants to play in the NHL the only ...

best line in 8a

I would look for warroad's first line to put up some numbers, although i don't know if they'll have much after that. If there first line consists of Hahn, Shaugaby and Ravendalen(spelling's probably wrong on the names). They should be pretty solid. I know that Hahn and Ravendalen are both playing fo...

even if this is true it's just a verbal commitment which virtually means nothing other than you have the schools attention... a school can make verbal commitments to 20 players a year if they want to but that doesn't mean they're gonna keep all of them... i wouldn't believe it until it's on paper......

Warroad

For anyone's info, warroad has a population of about 1700, Roseau's is about 2500. If you look at Roso's programs they have a lot of numbers. Their programs is thriving right now. Warroads on the other hand is not. I think you'll find that most of the players that were on state championship teams, f...
