Kid loves hockey, I don't think Buffalo's contention has ever been that they are better than other teams, its that they want to improve. One piece of that puzzle is providing teams with consistently strong competition so the players realize what they hav to work towards. Providing lots of practice t...

You have to think long term. Maybe the largest associations can afford to write a kid off by treating him poorly upon his return, but for the rest of us, that is a very short sighted option. Any small or medium sized association, if they want to improve, would welcome the player back with open arms....

I'm curious, why have districts at all? Try this: 4 regions NW, SW, SE and NE with the dividing lines crossing at Fort Snelling or some other central landmark. That way each region would have a wide variety of associations; growing, shrinking, suburban goliaths and outstate david's, successful or no...

I remember Buffalo making State appearances in 03-04 at the Bantam A level and the Bantam B team in 04-05. I believe there were other trips as well. The loss to Owatanna (Bantam A 04-05) still stings, that might have been Buffalo's nicest team in a while, but they still had a great year. I like Dave...

Hi, puckeyone. Thanks for the reply. I'll take a stab at your questions. The one round of 4 games has been offered up as a solution to free up all D5 teams to play more games outside of D5, not just Buffalo. And yes, it was voted down this year and last. Very democratic. It is just one attempt to im...

Interesting topic. For you geography buffs out there, Mound, St Michael and others do, at times cross through Buffalo territory to get to other D5 arenas. But Buffalo also borders on Rogers, Maple Grove and Elk River turf and is just a few nice golf shots away from Wayzata and Champlin Park. Quite a...

Wow...80% is a big #. I knew there were a lot. Unfortunately my boys have a cave man for a dad who didn't even think of the social/athletic advantages of holding them back. I just put them in the grade they were supposed to be in. Give that 20% the option. Let them make the choice based on their sch...

Good point but we are 6 months off now, would 2 more months be that big a change? Aside from the occasional Fargo tournament is the USA hockey date relevent in MN?

I think its pretty realistic to say that HS hockey is still the engine that pulls the train in MN.

The underlying problem is the mis-alignment between our school systems date, Sept 1 and the date used by MN Hockey, July 1. From a hockey perspective, this means that every other year players with late summer birthdays have these decisions to make. There is no doubt that we have the finest HS hockey...

MN Hockey has done a Presidents meeting in late Spring or summer for at least the 4 years I have been involved. Is that not the case this year? They were informative, big picture meetings for those that attended but they were not something where an association could initiate action on topics near an...
