Rocket, sorry but the JML girls will be going down with a splat! I don't think Mayo (or Mayo/Lourdes or Mayo/South Century) has ever lost to JM. Lemish is a spaz and the other girls you mentioned (breusewitz, armstrong etc) are grinders at best. If I was Mayo I would beat on Lemish and tweak her out...

I would have to agree. Along with better competition. School districts should focus on getting a hockey coach first, rather than a teacher who knows hockey. I know not to many parents are fond of the Century staff. The school district doesn't recruit or hire the coaches, it's the AD for Century HS....

CNT, Oh baby, it sounds like you're describing a Swedish Torpedo. I have an old teammate that runs it in girls youth hockey with success. I never realized the importance of F2 cutting off the pass or escape behind the net. That is a good suggestion. I will have to do some whiteboarding but I think t...

Forechecking Systems

We been using the 1-2-2 forecheck (the old NHL system of the 60's and 70's). The coach wants to use something more aggresive. He'slooking for help on a simple but aggressive forecheck system. HELP!

I've read this forum for a long time for amusement but the STA debate has me feeling like I have to reply. I went to public school and attend the U part time. My parents didn't make a lot of money so it was always a sacrifice for us so I could play hockey. They can't afford to help me with college s...

The best ice I ever skated was the old Met. Its gone so the next best ice is the original fairground rink in Rochester even if the building isnt so great. The worst ice has to be the Rec Center on the north end of Rochester. I think the pool warms it up but there is always dangerous cracks along the...
