Re: Fall Tier I High Performance Leagues
Yep, 4-3 in OT. Ox were up 3-1 with 3 minutes left, Little Caesars scored two extra attacker goals, one was 6 on 4, but Buttweiler cleaned up a rebound in OT. Championship will be against the Minuteman Flames, who the Ox beat in pool play. I'm sure a lot of snide speculation that Kesler's team spen...

Re: Never too early for rankings…
(1) My point was the CHL became a more viable option for many players it wasn't really an option for in prior years. (2) As far as numbers being numbers my guess is you will see some solid expansion in the college hockey ranks. With the BIG 10 adding PAC 10 schools I could certainly see USC, UCLA, ...

Re: Never too early for rankings…
I don't think this is a one answer fits all scenario but do see more and more US players (Mn players included) heading to the CHL but only time will tell. Sure, but there are only so many spots. Malachi McKinnon & Poul Anderson are having great years for Sherwood Park. Why weren't they on Fargo...

Re: Never too early for rankings…
Does the fact they no longer lose their D1 eligibilty change this at all? Sounds like a great spot to go develop for someone who wants to play D1 No. It doesn't change that. While a player is still NCAA eligible, my understanding is that teams in the CHL still expect a multi-year commitment. Time w...

Wow. CHL is really good at identifying the best players in the world, and better at chewing up the rest. Seems like a race to nowhere. What's the rush.Lino Lakes Hockey wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 4:30 pmWord is Matayas is leaving CDH early to go to the WHL.

Re: Never too early for rankings…
Edina—The Hornets skated six defensemen this year and return four, although at state Giles generally played just four, two of whom graduate. Other than the ever present possibility of early departures, replacing these two players is Edina’s biggest challenge for next year—and that’s not much compar...

Re: 2025-2026 Schedules
Almost all of Shakopee's best players are juniors or younger. Prior Lake had a very good Bantam team last year and those players showed promise as sophomores. You're right; they'll be decent.

Re: Odds against winning 2025 AA Boys state championship
Interesting discussion pertinent to the thread subject assessing each team's chances of winning this year's state tournament. You cannot win unless you recruit?…..? Forget hockey, it's a real small-town mindset to think kids will remain in the same school district K-12. Communities in Minnesota are...

Re: Odds against winning 2025 AA Boys state championship
Rogers was left off the odds list. Did they get intimidated by Edina and forfeit? Rogers: "We bow down to thee green, white, and gold. We shall concede our contest and journey back to the homeland." Thank you for catching that. I placed them at 10:1. An oversight or typo. Anyone won...

#8 - Forward - Jr - Tristan Wassengeso #8 played for Chaska HS last year. Wow, impressive work compiling that list! Minor point, but for accuracy Tristan Wassengeso played for a Sioux Falls Power midget team last season. The prior year he was a freshman on Chaska's Varsity and even played games aga...

Re: 1977 State Final - Is there a full game video?
as players in those days sometimes earned college offers based entirely on play at the state tournament. This is a great point. Recruiting budgets in college were very small. A solid player from a top program was usually afforded more opportunity post high school than many top players on programs b...

I'll update results here. Most everyone still in, with a likely outcome where multiple tickets have all eight and it comes down to the lowest cost.
