CAN YOU WIN ALTERNATING GOALIES AT STATE

Post by bisketboy »

iS IT POSSIBLE TO WIN STATE BY ALTERNATING GOALIES. I
SEE BOTH MORRHEAD AND ELK RIVER ALTERNATE. WHEN IS THE LAST TIME A STATE CHAMPION HAS BEEN CROWNED
USING ALTERNATING GOALIES.

Elk River won it in 2001 while alternating goalies.

I think it's a bad plan. Ask Holy Angels. While E.R. did it recently they better not try this year. A team really has to have consistancy this time of year and to change goalies on a hunch can be devastating. Sure it can be done but in doing so can change the complexion or mindset of the players if they're unsure of the perceived "back-ups" capability. No time to mess with a teams kharma. I'd hate to have to decide on two equal goalies with the title on the line. By the way, should this be misconstrued as E.R bashing, it's definately NOT! Sarsland has obviously settled on Warhol but Baumgartner is more than capable of getting it done if called on. Once a team is out of the Championship hunt by all means feel free to substitute as seen fit and that goes for anyone who has contributed to that teams success. I just wouldn't want to make the initial decision if I'm wrong.
