Correction

Post by Mucker »

%%WORD0%i- I stand corrected, I see on the geocities site that SPA did manage to defeat Washburn 2-1. The 4 points listed for the Wood kid were his totals for 18 games. Good luck to him, and maybe someday you can be making posts about him as a Mr. Hockey finalist, it's a little early yet.

mr hockey

Post by IMetJesus »

clearrly, tom gorowsky will get the award. he is by far the hardest worker of the candidates and can put up the numbers, he is also the strongest of the candidates. I watch their gajmes regularly and have never seen him get knocked down (except for the gt game where he got injured). Gorowsky for President!!

how can you say that tom gorowsky is the hardest working one. If im correct some people are saying that Goligoski doesn't have the team to work with, yet he is probably amongst the best with points. Gorowsky has the team to work with, look at all the skill on that team. I hope Goligoski gets it, his vision is insane he see's the ice like no other highschool player i have seen this year.

I have seen Goligowski play Brainerd a couple times and can understand why he is being considered. I'm sure there are some candidates in the metro also but I havn't seen anybody from Moorhead suggested. Who from Moorhead could compete for Mr Hockey? Videoscout, if your out there chime in please. Same goes for bluesbuddy or slapshooter your thoughts please.

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

If you watch Gifford play, he plays with such fluidness that it seems as if he is going slower than any one else on the ice, it seems as if he is being slowed down by his teammates which seems ludacris because the moorhead team is so deep. But he does get help from the best defense in the state. And also he has a chance for the nhl draft, that has to say something.

All i know is gorowsky may have one of the highest point totals in minnesota but i saw him for the first time on wednesday when they played roseville and honestly he really didn't impress me. He didn't look like he was workin to hard and centennial is just that good that even if they didn't have him they would still probably only have 1 or maybe 2 losses. he may add leadership to this team but he isn't the one that makes the biggest difference on the ice of all the finalists. Centennial would be good no matter what. I know this only goes for seniors but i would rather have RJ Anderson over Gorowsky anyday. That move that anderson put on that roseville defender for the first goal of the game was sick. Look out for him next year.

Gorowsky isnt even good. I watched them play and he has nothing. All of the juniors on the Moorhead team would smoke him. He wont even score if they make it to state.

Stateofhockey, you need to think before you speak. Why do u think that gorowsky is no good and that he juniors on moorhead are better than him. Im willing to bet you play Jv for moorhead and have seen him play once against you guys, which he 2 goals. enterman is right, he has the highest point total in the state and has gotten many of his points against tough teams. Also, we will see how many times he scores when his team makes it to the state tournament. Aagin, think beofre you speak.

Yeah it must be hard to get points when you play cupcake teams. What were the scores of your first couple games? Oh yeah right around the 20-0 range thats right. Man I really hope he got his points in those games.

Tom Gorowsky gets it. That kid is a force on the ice. Lives up to every ounce of hype.....patient, excellent hands, great defensive offensive player (takes the body better than anyone I've seen), just plain good and his teams undisputed leader.

(Tied the game up at 1 tonight, and got the crowd back into it. Solid)

Hillen is so damn over rated, i watched him play last night against Eastview, and he is a terrible skater who should by no means win Mr. Hockey. He is a good player i am not short changing him, just nto Mr. Hockey, he lacks size.

I hope Tom Gorowsky wins the award.

In my mind he is the best two way forward in the state. At 6'0 and 200 pounds he is a force at both ends of the rink. Tom has come up big in many big games this year and he is a team leader. Tom also excels in the classroom with schools like Yale hot after him.

Whoever wins will be deserving! Good luck to all of you!

I agree that tom is a good player, abover average for high school age kids, but should not win it. My vote would go toward kelly or (goligoski?). Take the surrounding cast into play, put kelly on centennial running 1,2,and 3 lines the whole year and he puts up a C-note guaranteed! HM played 4 lines the WHOLE season even against top competition. Average those shifts out and that's not too many chances each game and how many 3rd period goals/assist does tom have against first round teams. The juniors impressed me way more all year and last night, gorowski stay high and wide almost all night and when he did go in he got pounded by kelly and almost hurt himself again. I think some one on this board called kelly a cherry picker like loqari from DE, but gorowski takes that title in my mind

what can you say about goli, he's the cornerstone of that team and he carries them. Sounds like a Mr.Hockey to me.

From what ive seen of gorowsky he looked like a good player, his skills did not seem to be anything amazing but I think he is just one of those kids who gets it done, especially when it counts.

On the other hand, when James lauranaitis was matched up against him and they got in the corners together or anywhere together it was clear that James owned him.

Mr. Hockey

Post by Mucker »

Alex Goligoski will win, and SHOULD win Mr. Hockey 2004! He singlehandedly carried Grand Rapids as far as he could, on his back. To get to the section final, to go to state, was absolutely amazing. Alex is the epitome of a team leader, makes everyone on the ice with him better, and leads by example. Anyone who has seen him play this year, has to agree. A kid who declined to take "the fast track", to stay at home with the kids he grew up with, to make every effort to make it to state. He has a ton of points, he's a Mr. Hockey finalist, and he's got a scholarship to the U., and you know what matters most to him, his friends, his family and his hometown. He's an unselfish, inspirational leader, who has been a real pleasure to watch. Good luck Alex!

Hillen is in my opinion the best player in minnesota right now.Don't get me wrong Gorowsky is probably the best and most skilled forward in the state, but overall I believe Hillen should get the award. He comitted to CC,was on the all metro second team last year, has anchored one of the best power plays in the state for 2 years, and can control a game.Gorowsky didn't come out of nowhere by scoring 60 some points last season, but I think he suprised a lot of people by playing as well as he has.He also has a great supporting cast, him and RJ Anderson are probably in on 75% or more of the teams power play goals.Hillen has been a main reason why Holy Angels has had success the past 2 years, they have had lots of skilled players on their teams, but he has made it a lot easier to win games by not letting the opposition score.I noticed the talent that this kid had during last years section final against Eastview. The Stars shut them down last year and did so again this year,he just dosen't make mistakes,he makes the right plays, sees ice well, and he makes it look so easy doing it.He will have his hands full on thursday, but with Hillen on the ice,and if goaltending is spectacular, they could get an upset. Most Canidates are worthy to be up for it,I think the award will go to Hillen or Gorowsky. My personal opinion is that Hillen gets it hands down.
