No Respect

Post by MajinHockey »

I found it rather disrespectful that only one person other than the players that just got done participating in the championshiop game found time to stay for the All-Tourney Team (AA, didnt see the A). I realize that players probably don't know who will be chosen, and that they are all very drained from playing so hard and just want to go home, but geez, the majority of these kids live in the metro. This has been the trend over the last few years it seems. I recall in '93 that Cloquet (my point of reference obviously) had 4 players from the Consolation champions that made the all-tourney team and they all represented, even though their game was over at 2. Everybody stayed and watched all the games, out of respect. Thoughts?
Majin

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... nHockey at: 3/14/04 10:07 am

Nice shot Majin. You know nothing about their situations so let it go. The only person who needs to deal with it is the recipient.

The SSP guys took the bus back to the school, and still made it back for Stalock to come out and receive his All Tourney Team trophy.
Puckster

www.wildpuck.com

I totally agree Majin:

They paged several times over the PA system before the game and during the first period for "ALL AA coaches report to guest services after the second period" then they paged at least 4 times during the third period for the coaches from Holy Angels, Wayzata and Lakeville to report their immediatly but obviously they did not have the respect to attend the Championship game. This "take my ball and go home"attitude is disgracefull and it was embarrasing that other then the players in the game there was only one player from Duluth East that attended. AHA and Lakeville have been there several years in a row now, so they definately should have known that was the routine, maybe Wayzata didn't. I also agree with the point that all but one of the players was from the metro, so it was not a big hardship.
