i am gonna agree with tartan and hill at the top, but there is no way in hell sibley will be near the top, they'll be dead last just like this year, the 3-6 spots are WIDE open

Hill should be real strong year with all their defensemen back and a solid core of forwards. They will be the favorites to repeat as conference champs.

idk, i think tartan will be #1, in A bantams they kicked our ass like 9-1, and hill is losin all their top guys, not saying their junior class is bad, they are still very good, but not better than tartan.

the top 3 spots will be a fight i will tell you that and i know the 3 teams for sure will be north hill and tartan .. but im still not strong on tartan .. hill always finds a way to be good and north's top line will be just as good as the one they had with garrity dey(mr. hockey '03) and peterson .. and their depth will be good too... but i don't count tartan out at all nor hill their top line will be great too i dunno about their goaltending though

No offense SSP, but Tartan's A Batams were not very good this year. My nephew played for them & I watched them several times. Tartan will be competive next year but they will be competing for the #2 spot in that conference. Hill beat them twice this year & their JV also beat Tartan twice. Hill's program will be strong for a while.

Richfield next year

Post by HockeyFan2004 »

Richfield is going to be a lot better team than they were this season that's for sure. Mostly everyone is returning including some key sophomores and juniors. They lose Jeff Carlson at defense but return Brady Mithun, Jason Ellis, Nick Knutson, Alex Gruetzmacher, Nick Johnson, Grant Dhein, Josh Wagner, and Goaltender John Paszkiewicz. That team will finish in the Top 5 of the Classic Suburban Conference next season.

Classic Suburban...

Post by MNPuckster27 »

My top 5 in order.

1) Hill Murray
2) Tartan
3) South St. Paul
4) North St. Paul
5) St. Thomas

Mahtomedi and Richfield possibly in there as well.

Anyone know if any of these teams are going to lose any of their possible returners. I know SSP and STA had some talented juniors, will they stay? And Tartan seems to lose kids to private schools sometimes?

MNpuck

south st paul will not be top 3 they're losing pilot to juniors and their best players are leaving their JV was horrible the only they got is stalock the goalie ... and having a good goalie won't put you in t he top 3 in this conference alone hill north and tartan will have an equal battle for the top hill will have no goaltending unless they recruit someone

I did not know about the Pilot kid, I know he would have been their stud. That kid can score goals... I guess i'd put them down to about 5th then and slide everyone of my picks up a spot.

Where is Pilot playing juniors next year?

Anyone else leaving from other teams?

My pick is for Hill to win the conference and everyone else to battle it out for 2nd. I seriously doubt that NSP will produce a line that equals a line with Garrity & Dey nor will the team produce the results that team did. NSP hasn't been on the radar screen for 20 years prior to that & I see nothing to indicate that they will return anytime soon. As for SSP, word has it Stalock (goalie) will opt for Juniors next year but Pilot would prefer to play high school, but not at SSP. Tartan will be decent, especially with Wood only being a Freshman this year.

I agree Hill will win the conference and probably Tartan second... I also doubt NSP can produce another line like last years... those guys dominated. And I dont think their is enough talk on this thread about STA, they came on towards the end of the year and have a really good goalie. Also, during the tournament the announcers were talking about how Alex Stalock is a 3 sport athlete... Is he really going to leave and skip his other sports?? Those are the kinds of kids that almost always stick around. If so, SSP is in trouble.

Confrence and Stalock

Post by minnesotahshockeyfan »

I think that Hill will be on top because they are too deep and talented for any of these teams. the number two spot will be a battle between Tartan, North and South St. Paul, with Tartan coming out on top. Don't count out St. Thomas and Mattamedi. Simley, Sibley, and Richfield will be the cellar teams. And on Alex Stalock, I have heard from many people that he is leaving South St. Paul, but not for juniors.

Pilot will go to Omaha if he leaves, I assume he will be leaving because he only plays for scouts and not for his team.

NSP

Post by 206guy »

THe first line for NSP ... when it was in bantams was the most producing in the state .. until one moved up to high school ... and the other two both had over 100 points while on a bantams .. they were pretty much our team ... now two of the 3 on the top line are going to canada for the minnesota prospects or whatever so they say .. maybe your right about doing b etter than garrity and dey's line but it will be up there... oh and one more thing if you look at the past sucessfukl hill teams their keys players were from north st paul ...... still i am confident north hill and tartan all have an equal shot at number one in conference ....

don't post things you don't know about. You make North sound like arrogant snobs. Have some humility and don't try and tell people what's what, listen for critisizm and use it constructively, don't just get defensive.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... ockey12 at: 3/15/04 3:24 pm
