whatever
Rapids will be a better team next year than they were this year. Their first line of Tavis, Columbus, and Stunyo are coming back. Plus they have a lot of young talent returning. Patrick White will be a Mr. Hockey canidate when he's a senior, and he'll be a sophmore next year. The kid is playing in a select 15 tourney in Toronto this offseason. East lost half it's team to graduation. Rapids should be the favorite in 7AA next season. I see Rapids going 18-5-2 next year.

He's ALIVE!!!!!
GR19, it is good to see you are still kickin AND still have your sense of humor. I will give you 2 reasons why Rapids was playing in the title game in section 7AA this year. There was only one team that could play good hockey consistently (it starts with an E) and Alex Goligoski. Goligoski lead the teams in goals and lead the team in assists. You have lost one LARGE reason Rapids was in the sectional title game. You have mentioned 3 good players for Rapids, but I do not see them picking up the production or having the ability to carry the play. Perhaps the quality of the teams in the section will be down again allowing rapids a chance to play in the finals. I would guess that is the only way they get there.

best of the worst
rapids as you can see will have a tough schedule next year and finish around 500 again, but come playoff time they'll be right back at the decc but this time they'll be playing cloquet in the finals. rapids returns 4 solid defenseman next year and hiipaka will be three times the goalie davis was this year. i look for pat white and joe stejskal to make the first of three trips to the excel center next year. and by the way grman45, fat chance you'll be on that team.

Rapids.....
Question: I'm reading this thread and i'm seeing I dont see rapids competing with these teams, and double digit losses, and that they have a tough schedule. Um, I only see one team on here that rapids didnt play this past season, apple valley. So, I'm not sure what u guys mean by that. Also, I do think Rapids will be rather weak. Their first line will really have to carry them alot. If I've calculated correctly, on Rapids' third line next season, they have two guys who played on varsity in 03/04, and then for that last wing, and the whole fourth line, and the third set of two defense, they have to play guys who didnt even play on varsity this season. To add on to that, they've got an inexperienced starting goalie next year in Andy Hippikka. I don't know a whole lot about how he plays, so I can't judge, but still, inexperience. Here are the line combos that I think Bruce will have next year

Columbus Tavis Stunyo

S. Davis Fransisco Hicks

Weliver White Maher

Glorvegin Anthony CURRENT JV

Smith Hedlund

Stejskal Clafton

CURRENT JV CURRENT JV

Hippikka
Marchesse

Those don't look to promising to me, but we shall see....................GO HAWKS!

ps: is rapids hockey the artist formerly known as GR 19?

Rapids will be a much better team next year then this year. I have no idea what your talking about. If they have to depend on their first line then i guess it wont be any different than this year. If you look at who Rapids has returning next year and compare it to the 02-03 teams players that would be returning. Next year looks way more promising. Then you will also be suprised on how much a year makes in some of the players and some players step it up that you never thought would have.

Rapids 04/05
Hockeyfanatic23, any reasons why you think the T-Hawks will do better next year than this year? Don't get me wrong, of course I want them to do well, but I'm just worried, and I can't lie to myself. How can you find promise in any of our lines except the first, the second, and some of our defense? Don't want to sound like a Rapids hater or anything, but it won't be easy for them. In my opinion, they were weak in defense this past season, and will get even weaker this year. Stejskal will have to start where he left off last year, as in keep going on that really stepping up pace. All those newcomers will really have to play hard, and and try to get this team wins. Shall be an interesting 04/05.

hawks rocked
hawksrock, try using a little different logic. how often did the fourth line and third set of defenseman get used this year. when you approach it from that angle, laroque only will have 1 forward and no defensemen that won't have at least one year of varsity experience(clafton didn't play much this year, but he'll be solid next year). 75% of the time they go with two lines and four defensemen, and with who they have coming back(i forgot to mention hiipaka in nets) they'll be solid. east loses 14 seniors(12 that played) and a lot of the good players that played bantams for them 2 and 3 years ago now play for marshall. cloquet will be the team to watch as they will be loaded with seniors next year

question for rapids hockey
any select 15 team that pat white will be playing on in toronto this summer will just be some club team that someone is putting together. select tryouts haven't even been held yet. anticipate him making that festival team, but the fact he's playing with some team in toronto this summer only means his dad will be a couple grand poorer.

one year at a time
i assamed you were talking about next years team. as far as 2007 goes . anybody's guess

white
The invitations will be/where sent sometime this week for the select teams and i was wondering if white will be a 15 or a 16 he could be either, no matter what team he is on he will most likely make team minnesota and at least the festival..

....
I don't know why you think White is gods gift of hockey. When we played them in sections he didn't stand out at all. He is not that good of a player at all and is way overrated. Maybe when hes a senior he may be dectent and have 30 points..... maybe. And o yea...You can't be a Mr. Hockey candidate when your a junior and even when hes a senior he won't be a candidate.

shut up. How can you belittle a freshmen on a team that kicked your butt bigtime in the playoffs. You guys are so far below Grand Rapids it's like you don't even exist. Cambridge is just a bunch of hick farm boys on skates that think they're a hockey team. You guys are awful, you can barely stay up on your skates.

Better in 2004-2005?
Glad the see the Indians in the Edina Classic. Lets look at what we lost than what we gain. This season you lose a great defensemen in Goligoski very hard to replace. Still Steve Anderson has 4 returning defensemen in Hedlund, Smith, Stejskal, Clafton. Three with a ton of experience and Clafton is and will be solid as well. From there you lose 5 positional players from this season the 6th being Swalboski who did not play much. Next season you have 11 Juniors from an 18-4 junior varsity competing for 5 Varsity positions from a coaches perspective this is very good as off season the kids will have to work their tail off to make the Varsity. Look for some hungry kids coming in from junior varsity. If Bruce is smart the Juniors who do not make Varsity this season he should keep on Junior Varsity instead of pushing them to play Junior Gold or quite. Model the team after East who make a point to keep juniors playing junior varsity than give them a second shot at Varsity their senior year. All in all it is a very good position to be in for the Indians. 5 positions to fill one big one in net and one big one on the blue line. If the Juniors coming in continue the work ethic they displayed in jv games all is well with Inidans hockey!! Have a fun summer boys!
RapidsHockey, how about getting an organization started to return to the traditional Indian name and dump that Gold awful Thunderhawk for good!

This is my brothers username.

Anyways JLS 81, I am all for it. I obviously can't do a lot from up here. However I'd support it in anyway possible. Also, I sent an email off to the MSHSL about East getting home ice in the playoffs, which is complete BULL!!! More people need to write the MSHSL as well.

Re: white
I believe White is a 15 year old. He played with an 89 group in the past summers.

Indians Forever
Why would you even bring up Cambridge. Were not even talking about them and if you say we suck thats great, but this post isn't about us. And its not like he beat us singlehandedly. He didn't even get a point and didn't get many shots if any.

Re: Better in 2004-2005?
Looks like 9 Wins - 15 losses going into playoffs.
