HIBBING DOESN'T BELONG??!!

wow....the first thing the television said was that Hibbing didn't belong here and that Hermantown should have been to the tournament and they didnt know how hibbing beat them. DOES ANYONE SEE WHY THEY DID NOW? right when Hibbing scored their first goal, good old LOU said that shouldnt have gone in! i think hibbing proved to have the most heart out of anyone in the class A in the tournament. 11-14 record didnt discourage them and you cant judge by the record. ALBERT LEA?? TARTAN?? now that is EMBARRASSING!!!!!

hibbing did have good heart, but they didnt have the skill of a 3rd place team. their 2nd and 3rd lines cant even skate. the walters are top notch players, but they wont get it done all the time. ssp wasnt even tryin the 1st and 2nd periods, when we started trying and wanted to win we got 3 goals no problem.

i know you are mad ssphockey because you lost to a team that didn't even deserve to be there <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> but ssp is no more talented than hibbing is. Hibbing relies on 2 players and ssp relies on 2 players....same skill level there

no, we have 2 good lines that match up with any of brecks lines. and rely on mainly 4 players, stalock, stalock, bernier and pilot, and then we still have a few other top notches. the 1st and 2nd period u guys were probably thinkin man this team sucks, hey we saw the same, no one was trying

If you were not trying until the third period your just plain stupid. Hibbing deserved everything the got. (Third Place )THEY even tried the whole game. What a lame excuse for losing a game.

goalie91 is exactly right. The statement that the Packers didn't try until the third period tells me more about the Packers than it does about Hibbing. Any team which chooses not to try until the third period doesn't deserve to be in the state tournament in the first place. But anyhow, I'm not biting on the "we didn't try" defense. The person who said this doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Period. Lee

Lee, you beat me to it. These are some of the most laughable comments I've seen on here in a while. First of all, if this kid is a player on the team, he should be ashamed. Since I doubt he is a player, he should be ashamed of posting such nonsense. He's only showing his lack of knowledge about the game and his team. Excuses get you nowhere, especially ones that can be so easily seen through. Take a note from Slapshooter. Neither of his teams could pull it out in the end, but instead of whining and making excuses about it, he's chosen to focus on their respective accomplishments this past year. SSP has a lot to be proud of. They played a whale of a game against Breck, and Stalock was the best goalie in the tournament, A or AA. Maybe you should focus on that instead of trying to justify the team's loss with lame excuses.

To answer the first question YES they belonged there, now are they the 3rd best team in this state? NO! They finished 3rd but only because of the luck of the draw. Had they played Warroad right off they would have been one and done, Warroad run into a team who wanted it more and got beat. Hibbing did win there section and that shows they belonged but don't get to caught up in it all cause they are not as good as they finished, alot of sections in this state they wouldn't even make it out of. Crongrats to them but don't forget you were beat up on alot this season, includeing by Warroad, 7-1 i believe. As for us recruiting, give it up buddy, jealousy gets you no place

Congrates to Hibbing! You guys deserve what you got way to go. Don't let all the jelousy of the other teams, that didn't win as much as you and didn't place as good as you put you down! You guys beat 2 great teams in the state tourney plus a powerful Hermintown team!

ABSOLUTELY they belonged... Yeah, SSP didnt look too motivated in the 3rd place game, but Hibbing did. I would say SSP had a little more talent than Hibbing but Hibbing definately had the heart in that game, and plenty of skill to BELONG at the tournament. They beat down SCC in the first round and played stride for stride with Orono for most of the semi final game. Congrats Hibbing!

yah i really dont think hibbing deserved to be there for one because there a bigger school and it really bugs me that they dropped down to single a to win and now they win all the time not saying greenway had a good team or any thing but i dont think you can be the best unless you beat the best and the best definantly isnt in single a

EmbarrASSing Klobius You condem Albert Lea and Tartan in defense of Hibbing. If my memory is right didn't Hibbing get spanked by Warroad 8-0 in season play and lost to Rochester Mayo a team Albert Lea beat in season? Albert lea deserved to be at state as much as Hibbing and maybe more.

Why can't you just take a loss as a loss. Not only did you get beat, you got outplayed, and not for only two periods. Walter's missed an open net late in the 3rd, also one or two pipers by hibbing. If not for the one bad bounce on your first goal, and a goal that should have not been allowed(man on top hibbings goalie in the crease) the score could have been alot worse. Hibbing outworked you and deserved that game. As far as skating with Breck, you should worry about skating with Hibbing!!!!!

when it first split from one division to two hibbing was in single A. They opted to go up to AA for a few years , but then went back to A.

this was what some call a character game. Hibbing and ssp both lost the day before.The thing that made the diiference was hibbing bounced back and ssp was still licking there wounds. Also if any ssp people think that they were better then hibbing maybe there right but hibbing out worked them out shout them and just cared more. get well soon ben #17

How can anyone say that Hibbing didn't belong there...Come on, they got 3rd place. A team that gets third and people say they don't belong is totally ridicuous. Hibbing played with heart and beat two good teams while they were down there. Way to go Hibbing, way to represent Section 7A. Congratulations

1. Hibbing deserved to be down at state, why? BECAUSE THEY WON THEIR SECTION...I'm pretty sure 8 teams deserve it, and I'm also pretty sure there are 8 sections, weird. 2. SSP deserved to lose, did they think they were so talented that they could just walk over a team with a losing record. The game is a 3 period deal, not one. Congrats to Hibbing for playing a full game...was SSP slacking because they have some games next week or something...it's the last game of the year and if you are still crying or whatever over losing in the semifinals here is some advice : LIFE SUCKS WEAR HELMET! 3. Favorable draw for Hibbing? That's a tough one. Coming into state I thought there were 4 teams that could beat Hibbing (Breck, Warroad, Orono, SSP) and they got lucky with that I guess. But to win it good or bad draw you gotta be good. 4. Hibbing is NOT the 3rd best team in the state...they are the 3rd place team at the state tournament. In a top 10 poll I would put Hibbing somewhere from 7-10.

It seems that Mr. Rich really had eaten his words. The writer, 'SSPhockey17' really needs a reality check. Hibbing totally outplayed your favored team taking the hardware (3rd place) again this year. To say that SSP wasn't trying was the worst excuse I have ever heard a losing team at the state say. You need to come up with more of a convincing excuse like the better team won and we just chocked. If your a hockey player, you need to face the fact that you guys ran out of gas. I like what the writer 'unionballs' stated when he/she stated, "As far as skating with Breck, you should worry about skating with Hibbing!!!! This was beautifully put!! Even with the truth hitting you right between the eyes, your goalie (Stalock) deserves alot of kudos. It was quite obvious that his offense did not work too well against Hibbing. Again, your only as good as your last game and guess who won? Hibbing went out a WINNER and proved many people WRONG. This team was on a mission this year and should have even made it to the finals only if Mr. Walters would have scored and made it 3-0 and then the lights would have been out for Orono. I wonder what people would have been saying then? For the writer, 'iloveboysingreen' (probably a Greenway fan), Hibbing did what they had to do and you should not cut down the class a teams. There are alot of high quality class a teams that have beaten class aa teams. I expect more from you if your any Ranger fan. FANTASTIC JOB HIBBING!!!!!!! BLUEJACKETS!!!!!
