Don't know

I don't know if it's a State record. Hard to compare considering they play more games now and have longer periods.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

that's true. 255 goals in 31 games is very impressive.. HM's 243 was in 28 games, but if Hill's season were 3 games longer, and had the same type of tourny that Centennial had, the total would probably have still fallen short by 5, nonetheless both are good for their time.
let's just hope they dont move up to 20 minute periods-that way stutz's record CANNOT be broken....i mean even though he had 3 straight shutouts, its POSSIBLE but not PROBABLE that someone could do it again, and it'd be a shame to see him lose that if they ever extend the periods.

Might have to be like one of those asterisked MLB or NFL records. 3 extra games plus 2 extra minutes a period equals 321 extra minutes in a season or to equate to Hill Murray's standard; Centennial played 7 more "games" than HM did. Not to take anything away from Centennial though, they had a tremendous year putting the puck in the net.

agreed. probably best to leave it as outstanding instead of trying to compare it to other team's excellent seasons...too complicated. centennial did great this year, hill did great in 83, some other team may eventually do that too.

Centennial record

Post by hockeyplayer »

yeah they may have broken the record...but just against monticello alone they got 27...show some class and send out your lower lines for the whole game and just pass the puck around. Anyone could brake the record by just sending out your top lines shift after shift against teams like that. Yeah Centennial was a great team with lots of talent, but come on!

wrong team

hockeyplayer: You have the wrong team. Moorhead beat them 27-0. Centennial's head coach actually received a letter from Monticello before State wishing them luck and thanking them for not running up the score. Centennial was ahead 10-0 after 7 minutes and over the next 44 minutes they scored 8 more times. Hardly running up the score!!! This has been beaten to death!
