CCM GAME

Post by THE KLOBIUS »

D. Walters had a hat trick tuesday night and then had 4 assists in wednesday nights CCM all-star game. He also earned the MVP honors of the game. wow did he look good. Him, Oshie, and Shea on the first line with Niskanen and Goligoski on defense.....UNSTOPPABLE???

Drew Walters the Scoring and Assist Machine! This man truely deserves his props/MVP as he and his brother (Shae) and selected others brought Hibbing to the Big Show. Drew Walters definetly has a future in Hockey. If I were one of the WCHA scouts, I would be running to his doorsteps with a scholarship. He SHINED in both CCM All Star Games. I agree with that line of Drew, Shae, Oshie, and Niskanen and Goligoski was the BEST!!!

Far be it for UMD to pick this great hockey player right out of their "own back yard". Too busy making all this flights to British Columbia to sign second rate canadian kids I guess. Where is the love coach?
Maybe Blais will get him and go on to win another national title for the Sioux with Oshie coming in after next season. Anyway hope to see this kid playing division 1 at some point because the kid can flat out play.

I would like to see him in Beaver green
Make it two big steals for the little school up north.
No one paid attention to Luke Erickson from Roseau and he just turned in a tremendous freshman season.

From what I had heard, I think his mind set is on Juniors but who knows as he likes Duluth, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota. Time will tell where this talented man goes. Whoever gets him will difinetly have a goal scorer and leader.

Drew could paly WCHA.
But he could be a star in the CHA and be close to home at BSU.
And next year and for awhile they should make it to the NCAAs. Should have been there this year, too. But upsets occur.

correct defensive pairs

Post by Uncle Puckhead »

The IRC did look good last night, but I want to clarify one thing. Chad Hardwick from Warroad played with Niskanen, and Derek Fisher from IF paired up with Goligoski.
The last shift of the night Goligoski went up front with Drew and Shea, and just about scored.
Fun game to watch! Jameson Lundquist from Superior can fly too!
The difference was the Oshie and Walter's boys!

clarify

Post by Dons »

let me clarify one thing Chad Hardwick did nothing..KYLE Hardwick is the man your lookin for. He will be #1 Defenesemen in the state next year. I figured warroad to be on a 3 year champ run if not for teh likes of Orono. but i think they are set to bring the championship not only back to public..but back up north next year.

warroad boys

Post by benc14 »

in case no one else realized this, the 2 kids form warroad (oshie and hardwick) scored 5 of 6 goals for the IRC. I think that is pretty good for being the only 2 warriors on the team, and the first 3 of those goals were all assisted form walters and walters. I also was a bit confused that golly was the only kid from GR playing and there were 4 form virginia and 4 form I-falls.

wait just one minnizle, hardwick is not going to be the #1 d in the state next season, not even the #1 d in the north that will be matt niskanen. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

C.C.M. picks-

Post by Mucker »

As for players chosen for this All-star game, Stunyo and Columbus from Rapids should have played. The Hedleys may be good kids, but oh my god are they slow. At least Stunyo and Lumbo would have kept up with the pace of this game. Derek Fisher and Bahr were two more questionable choices for this team. But, they swept Duluth, so they got it done, with what they had, good for them. By the way, why are they called Duluth? Why not Lake Superior or Duluth area? I wonder how the kids from Silver Bay, Hermantown, Cloquet and Superior feel about playing for Duluth.

Player's chosen

Post by Uncle Puckhead »

Mucker,
I agree that a couple of other kids could have been chosen, but you could say the same for the Duluth area team. All the kids picked played well for both teams.
Dons, thanks for the correction, I had a brainfart, Chad is a DJ in my hometown, Kyle is a hockey player in Warroad, and a darn good one.
As to the Warroad players scoring 5-6 goals, anyone that can keep up with Drew & Shea would have had the
same chance. They fly and are really unselfish with the puck. This isn't putting either one of them down, because they ARE good players too!

drew goin d1

Post by puck4ever »

i hope drew walters goes to a d1 school and stands out, but i dont see it happening. he definitely isn't ready yet, maybe a year in juniors, if his shulder holds up, will do the trick. i sure hope so because he is fun to watch. but as far as his points in the ccm game, look who he played with compared to who he played against. duluth team wasn't anywhere close to the level of play of the north. he is a great player, dont get me wrong, but i dont know if he will have a great impact at the d1 level.

i think shea is the walters to be tlakin about on here. call me crazy, but compare his style of play and skill to vanek's. very similar. both tall, crafty players with great hands and great shots. both are also very smart. and shea is a better 2-way player than vanek. give shea some size, along with that will come some speed, and look out. he could be great at the college ranks, division 1.

and it was the warroad show in the second ccm game. congrats to them on an outstanding year. beating their competition 19-4 in the consolation games, that is amazing.

i think hardwick will give nisky a run as the top defenseman in the north/state next year. dont go by stats either, look who each team plays.
