Yes, Stutz had an outstanding offensive and defensive team in front of him but he was solid as well. He had a .930 save% and gave up 31 goals in 26 games played. Here are the games he played in. 8 games played against State Tourney entrants, and 9 more games against Section Finalists and Semi Finalists. 31 goals against is pretty impressive.

2 each against: 14 total

Rosevile
Wayzata
Hill Murray
Holy Angels
Irondale
Moorhead
Totino Grace

1 game against these: 12 total

WBL
Blaine
Edina
Coon Rapids
Mayod
Mounds View
Elk River
Buffalo
Cambridge
Spring Lake Park
Duluth East
Tri City

Re: Stutz
What is with some of you guys??? Can't you just say something nice?? If you don't have the answer to the question or something positive to say...just don't reply to the thread. GEEZ!!

The latest on Stutz is that he's "probably" going to play juniors...he was looking at Anchorage, Danville, and St.Louis...heavily favoring St.Louis at the moment...but I wouldn't bet on anything unless he's boarding the plane to go...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/grin.gif ALT=" >D">

?????
Yea he looked terrible at the beginning of the season. ......Those first 3 games where he got three in a row shut outs were terrible (not to mention they were against Roseville, WBL, and Blaine).<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> . You obviously have no idea what you are talking about puck 88.

Stutz
When these kids were bantams three years ago and won the title they gave up a grand total of 1 goal in three state tourney games. Stutz was in net for all three games and they beat WBL in the title game 1-0 as well. This kid is a solid goaltender and comes up big in the big games.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Quote:
The latest on Stutz is that he's "probably" going to play juniors...he was looking at Anchorage, Danville, and St.Louis...heavily favoring St.Louis at the moment...but I wouldn't bet on anything unless he's boarding the plane to go...

First off St.Louis; if you are talking about St.Louis of the USHL then I hope he doesn't end up there. I know a few kids that played for that team when it was in Topeka and they said once the team was moved to St.Louis it just sucked. They said the new owners of the team were just bad, and actually had there kids and nephews on the team (and they didn't belong there, see St.Louis' last place finish).

Secondly in the USHL you don't get to favor one team over the other. The years of being able to sign a tender with the team you want to play for are long gone in the USHL. All the teams now get there new players via draft. Now sure he could go undrafted and then try to play with whoever he wanted, but if he is as good everyone says he is then he would most likly be drafted by a team in the USHL.

Good luck to the kid, it was a heck of a season for him.

Re: USHL Info
Im not sayin stutz is a bad goalie...a bad goalie doesnt blank every team at the tourney...but i would be interested to see all you stat hounds show us the number of shots that he faced. i mena..i dont think that there are many naysayers...just ones taht are saying that he really didnt face ALL that many..and that is what is leading to him being overrated..nobody said he was bad...step back...take a deep breath..

St. Louis
Be a great place for him to go... You want to go to a place where you know you are going to see a ton of rubber.

This summer, you can watch him back stop team paninos to another MWCHL title.

Kids a good goalie... get over it

stutz
I was talking about his skill level. I saw him play in the schwan's cup and before that... he didn't look like someone who should play varsity hockey. Against AHA he let in like 3 goals off 12 or 13 shots. So if you believe stats correctly correlate to the skill of a twiner then that's not a heck of a lot of skill. But the state tourney... that's very good. Im just saying he took like a huge leap from where he was during the first half of the season.

Do most of you realize what you are saying? You're saying that the goalie that blanked AHA, Wayz, and M-Head in the state tourney is bad. That is just plain stupid!

Fine, Stutz isn't the most technically sound goalie in the state. And, his team played awesome defense. But, I'd say that with the exception of Wayz, other teams did have good scoring chances and Stutz was equal to the task. Please people, a goalie isn't bad because his team plays good defense. Stutz has a long history of success between the pipes.

The key though, is that he is CONFIDENT. That's paramount for a tender. Give me a confident Stutz anyday!
