Most Underrated Player

Post by hockscout99 »

Joe Long for elk river is by far the most underrated player in the state. His skills and speed are great and he is a very dangerous scoring threat. Look for him to have an impact in the USHL next year.

Underrated...

Post by MNPuckster27 »

I agree Joe Long is very underrated and has a bright future.

Other underrated players I think are:

Greg Flynn, Centennial- definition of a steady defenseman who never makes a mistake or gets beat, but was probably in the shadow of R.J. Anderson.

Jay Cascalenda, Hill-Murray- Very fast, smart player... Same story as Flynn, seems like Sam Kelly got all the hype from Hill this year.

Nick Stalock- Great all around player, good speed and strength. Also played in a shadow this year, of his younger brother Alex.

Anyone know what Cascalenda or Stalock is doing next year? I think Flynn is headed to Air Force.

Brant Marple and Tyler Brigl

Post by LloydBraun »

Ev all conference players Brant marple and tyler brigl were very underrated this year i think. Brant marple is a natural playmaker see's the ice as good as anyone. Tyler brigl very good goalie very big reason EV was in the section finals game.

I don't know if I would say underrated. All of these players are very good and being heavily scouted. But MN27 Cas is not underrated, very fast and skilled but couldn't make a back hand pass to save his life and he is playing for waterloo next year. But he did get messed around with this year from D-F so I expect that next year he will have a very big year, if the guys around him can play with him.

14 DEFENSE

Post by Light It Up »

I DON'T KNOW HIS NAME BUT WHEN MHD. CAME TO ALEX.
THEY HAD A DEFENSEMEN ON THE JV NO# 14 THAT WAS AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN SOME OF THE VARSITY KIDS. HE WAS BIG AND HAD SKILLS.

MHD

Matt Becker doesn't get the repect he deserves. Played much of this year on the third line and was one of MHD's leading scorers. Killed a ton of penelties and is one of the best two way players in high school. He will have a big year in MHD's run for the championship next year.

Brothers
Joe Becker - Bantam A
Matt Becker - Varisty
Brian Becker - Air Force

DAD
Brad Becker - Edina East?, UND, Rangers

Grandpa
Willard Ikola

What a line up!

Just heard today that Michael Phillippi from Hill-Murray was not selected to the All Conference team in the Classic Suburban League. I think that is a shame. From what I have been told and watched this past season he was Hill-Murrays' go to guy on defense. If it's true he did not make All- Conference it would be a shame. He is one of the most under rated defensemen in the metro area. The kid has great vision, patients and poise for a Jr.

Cory Johnson of Moorhead is a speed Demon with all kinds of
talent. Kills penalties like no one else in the state.Gifford got
all the accolades. He did not impress many at state.

Johnson

I think Cory Johnson is very underrated. He has got to be one of the hardest working kids in the state. He gives it 110% every shift. He's fun to watch too.

Brett Barta of Moorhead is the most underrated player. He had a very stong state appearance but always seems to get lost in Lee and Ammerman's shadow. Expect great things from Barta in the future.

kinda underrated

Justin Bostrom of Moundsview is underrated compared to how good he is. he has signed with the gophers, and has won numerous awards, but he does not get the recognition for how good he is. he should always be included when the top 5 of 2005 are discussed.

Barta

I agree with you Barta did have a good tourney. The rest of the D were a little intimidated by that agressive forecheck Cent. ran.

most underated player

Dusty Clarquist of Alexandria had 34 goals, and 20 assists this season for Alex. He hasn' gotten any credit he deserves, but then again all you cities folks don't know anything about the good hockey players up here.

Travis V.

Travis Vermeulen for Centennial. This kid has been on Select teams and works as hard as anyone. Travis is an excellent defensive forward and can bury the puck as well. He is sometimes forgotten on this team full of good players.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

The player in question is Jay Barribal from Holy Angels. This is a great kid have had the opportunity to work with this boy when he was younger. Great heart, very good skills, and good hockey sense. He will be a good college player one day. Has been over looked because of his size. I would have Barribal play on any of my teams.

i am friends with jay and he was recently invited to tryout for ntdp he had 62 points in the year and it is a shame that he was not an all state honorable mention player like teammate sophomore mike carmen who had 53 points and was all state honorable mention he was also invited to tryout for ntdp
