To 17.....tuff call
It's really anyone's guess...I believe you need to take into account who went last year (repeaters) and maybe who has had some international experience already (shattuck boys) that they (USA) may be interested in

forwards

Stoa- NTDP
Thang- edina-
Rau- EP
Fulton- Breck
Gergen- Shattuck
Miller- wayzata
Collins- edina
Kramer
Milo- Shattuck
Vandevelde- Moor.
Stewart- Hastings
Pilot-SSP

Alt
Pilot
Grun

Defense(6)
Johnson- NTDP
Chorney- Shattuck
Phillipi- Hill
Lee-Moor.
Ammerman
Finley-Edina

alt babich

Goalies(2)
Frazee-NTDP
Poderzay-

17s roster

I don't think Finley and Phillippi were better than Michael Sauer and he was playing on 1 leg........Ammerman will make it but didn't look very good......I don't think Pilot should make it as a forward, Shea Walters is better than he is, even though he had a quiet tryout as well.....Pilot only skates when he has the puck........

Snyergy, I can agree with you on Finlay, however Sauer is a little slow and has trouble handling the puck. I saw him last year and he has improved but the biggest factor Phillippi brings to the table is he make his partners better and thats what you need at this level. Michael Sauer is coming along nicely but in no way did he out perform the Phillippi kid.

Drew Fisher

Drew is a bit ahead of the Walters and VanDevelde kid, just to name a few. Mr. Fisher will be on that final roster. I still would like to see him back on D.

defenseman

sauer was playing w/ a badly pulled hamstring that occured in baseball, so thats why he looked slower than usual.......he has good hands and plays in front of the net on the PP in HS.....however, he doesn't dangle w/ the puck as much, he usually makes the smart play and doesn't take a lot of chances, but i think he could rush the puck a little more.....go to portlandwinterhawks.com and check on what they think about him, its under 04-05 outlook

hockey scout?

Post by bigtime »

Two of your picks on forward, joe welch and justin milo? Joe Welch is a real hard worker but you have to bring a little more to the table than hard work to make this team and milo? he's decent but small, and also he's a goal scorer and i don't think he scored last weekend.

A team of that talent can really use a bustin winger such a Welsh to get the puck to your line mates. You can also utilize a player such as Welch on a third or 4th line as a forechecker. This kid of player is what you need with a talented scoring team as the 17's. The Milo kids line mates this weekend did not move the puck. Milo can put the puck away and his size is not a problem. I watched him this past year and he works hard and is a smart player. Deserves to be there.

first of all, lee and chorney were the best dmen so forget phillippi and joe welch* (not welsh) will not make the team, he can't make a play to save his life, he was playing with rau didn't do a thing.
