Sorry..... but, Section 7a doesn't really strike fear in any hearts of hockey fans anymore.
SectionFan

I'd pick Virginia to win the game. Not sure what the score will be though. Just so you Blue Devils fans know, STA's goalie can be pretty dangerous at times, and that's the only reason why I'll say it won't be a blowout. Good luck to the Virginia.

sta vs. virginia

Post by idunnoaskmom »

whoever was talking about the cadet's leading scorer being an 8th grader obviously has not seen this kid play. as a 14 yr old he is mature far beyond his years. he's also not the only offensive power for the cadets. jack baer recently returned from a 3 week knee injury, to score the game winner in double ot against lourdes. this cadet team is very fast. when they are all clicking together, they are a very fun team to watch. they dont rely on a single player like many other teams do. they have three lines that can hold their own with just about any line from an opposing team. they are also very well conditioned. they have the ability to wear teams down late in the game.

i pick sta over virginia 4-2

question

Post by olde tyme hockey 9 »

I think in the paper or else somewhere on minnhock it was said that Virginia plays 4 lines. When that is said does that mean taht their 4th line plays a shift or 2 in the game and the 3rd line plays a lil bit or r we going to regularly see either of these lines on wednesday?

You will see all three lines the whole game. The fourth line will be out there but im sure they will get skipped over a couple of times.

foresurely 3 lines, and the 4th line will play quite a bit also. poderzay was a great goaltender and we didnt have a problem putting up 5 goals. they can score no ifs ands or buts. nico will take out that 8th grader lol. but virginia played 4 lines the whole game against hibbing. i dont suspect them changing anything since it has gotten them this far

Yup. LAst year against hibbing the coach left out our first line for the final 5 minutes of the game, they could hardly skate and hibbing pounded us those 5 minues and won. coach learned a lesson. mixing is the key. But this year has lots of Depth, so all 4 will be skating.

I think Niskanen will notice that if those kids are outplaying kids on our team, he will give them a real treat to remember the state tournament by. Nico will show them how to play along with Niskanen. If you want to talk about hot, look at Virginia, they have won like 15 games straight. Defeating some good teams like Hibbing, which supposidly was going to beat Virginia handily, but everyone underestimates Virginia just because we arent a big town, but this years team is great. should see some real good playing, virginia will come out on top, sounds like virginia is a bigger team than STA, and we are lots faster than last year. Also, hedleys did put up good points last year, but Nico really stepped it up putting up great numbers for a freshman, and alot of others did also to compensate. No doubt the Hedleys could put the puck in, they were slow skaters, along with many others. Give me speed anyday. Va on top of STA, just wait and watch. Should see a great game by VA and logan with some Stellar goaltending

A real pounding?

Post by CoachGriswold »

D-Man

As I said where's the LOVE? When you are describing a "real" pounding, can that be compared to a hard kitchen utensil used to tenderize meat or perhaps you were attempting to describe a repetitive violent beating in an attempt to reduce their effectiveness as hockey players.

I do believe this pounding could possible result in a "time-out" for this talented blue devil star. I can't imagine these eighth graders really needing such a un-friendly reception. We can only hope Saint Christopher will watching over them. He who laughs last, laughs the loudest. Let the beatings begin.

Just remember what Judah-Ben Hur endured.

STA-TIMEX Watches- They take a beating and keep on Ticking!

Wheres the Love people? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/sick.gif ALT=":x">

quite possibly the worst post i have ever read, other than the st christopher mention. if nisky meets anyone on your beloved STA team in center ice, watch out!!! he might not get up, and it will be as clean a hit as possible. virginia will win this game, rather easily, which will be nice since they can get some rest for the warroad game and not get too beat up. best of luck to both these teams and all other teams at state.

GO DEVILS!!

thats a better post, i like the stats, they usually dont lie. point of reference to your stats though: look at the ranked teams virginia played and how they faired against them. they never lost. so judging by a strength of schedule system, you cant drop them for beating up on more bad teams than good teams just because they didn't have them on their schedule prior to this season. they beat the good teams, just like the ones they'll see at state. good luck to both teams.

GO DEVILS!!

yes that has to be the worst post i have ever read. virginia should indeed beat them handily and your on crack if you think sta has a better team. who cares if they had a tougher schedule, hibbing had a touch schedule playing moorhead and lots of other good schools, hibbing lost to moorhead by one goal, does that say anything, and Virginia beat Hibbing who had played a tough schedule. Its tourney time, the reg season doesnt matter. Virginia is coming in how winning over a dozen in a row, I dont think STA has a chance to really stop them. and Niskanen is an all out clean player. cleanest hits i have seen open ice. but since sta has never seen him, maybe one of them will skate middle ice and get rocked. most of the time they can hardly skate let alone know where they are. ask king, he didnt touch the ice after the hit.

whipping the crowd into a frenzy?

Post by CoachGriswold »

Hey Spinningwheelsguy:

Are you blushing or is that just your red neck! Please point out a singular post by myself referring to STA's dominating performance against your Devils in blue....

I was simply amused at the fact you have STA being blown out by Virginia. I understand you have some very fine players, and made no reference to any lack of ability. As you mentioned, its the State tourney and past and previous results matter little. Just pay STA a spoonfull of respect. OK sugar?

Where's the Love People?

I agree with coachgriswold here. STA is not going to be some pushover like you are thinking spinner. They are going to come to play just as virginia is. Obviously STA must be pretty good to make it to the tourny so give them some respect. and besides, have you ever seen STA in action or are you just making judgement calls off what other people are posting on here?
