Man, sorry about the speed bump comment, didn't mean to cause such a fuss. I hope Wadena does have something to bring to the table. As far as the LF vs FF game goes anybody who was at the game could tell that FF was totally outmatched and unless they left half the team on the bus I don't see that changing. FF is going to have to improve drastically to beat LF or I'm guessing Wadena. Watching Wadena go to the State Tourney for the first time last year was great. More than just the Wadena fans were pulling for them. Wadena's success last year fueled the fire for a number of other programs. With Alex coming into the section next year 4A will be a credible contributor to the State Tourney for years to come.

Hey little falls fan, I'm sure you know everything about Fergus huh????? you've seen them play many times so you know that that's how they play every night I guess..
probly not.........I will not say how LF really is, or Wadena, all I do is go by scores etc. wich has little credibility but shows a lot. That LF lost to Brainerd 9-1 and DL 5-1 says only that this team too can lose games by a lot to quality teams, just like Fergus can. Most teams in this section are young and need time....Fergus played another tight game against Lourdes tonight untill they ran out of gas.........they have some kinks, but look out at the end of the year...........

I am done responding to people talking crap about how their team will do this and that blah blah blah.and don't feel the need to validate myself to people who apearently were never given an english class....I am the first to tell you that talking crap doesn't mean a hoot.........now how did Wadena do this weekend and what games do they have this week?????

Oh yeah, have you seen how Alex is doing this year???
I would hope they don't go to the state tournement out of 4a with that kinda team..........

Jeez oldschool, take a deep cleansing breath and relax. Obviously FF is close to your heart. If your going to hang your hat on this train wreck (FF) your going to be in the nut hut before season's end. By the way, please take not of the correct spelling of probably, ignorance is really irritating. Please use your spell check!!!

lf vs ff

Post by fiveholeshooter »

I was at the lf vs ff game and when everyone says that fergus was completely outmatched the entire game they are absolutely right. BUT, that was not the best that the otters can play. They did not come into the game ready too play and from what I hear from the players is that their attitudes on the bus, in the lockerroom, and even during warmups was not where it needed to be to get a win. If ff can pull it together and play like they can it would be a GREAT game. no team would score more then 2 goals. I think it was #9 and #11 for lf who really dominated the game. ff will shut them down next time and force another player to step up. Don't by anymeans count out ff @ sections.

was a ruff one 16 from wadena checked a guy so hard it bent his mask into his nose and it open him up pretty bad. The trainer was there from the arena and im sure shes an ex boxer trainer cause 15 mins and a roll of tape he was back out running over people. Its a different style of play their, stick checks{hooks} and it worked slowing wadena down through neutral ice. If they had played with broom ball nets wadena would have won 10=4. haha Missed the net alot. Signs of young teams playing up and down every other game, Seems to be alot of that in section 4 this year, Shots i think ended at 32-21 wadena. Hats of to hawks. played the right game. Koota who got the concussion?

I agree #9 Steven Festler and #11 Jared Festler played well against Fergus. It was nice to see the youngster step up this game, because the other half of the dynamic Lickteig-Festler duo, #19 Mikael Lickteig, was playing very sick and with a bum foot and was not suppose to play, but there was no way he was gonna miss the Fergus game. Also #14 beau Hanowski and #26 Luky Jorgensen stepped up nicely for it being their first year of Varsity. The offense was for once evenly spread out having S. Festler, Lickteig, J. Festler, and Hanowski get three points each. The Lf Defense also got it together and its always fune to watch big Jim Pender get some big hits. Jake Kluver had some nice saves in net and looks to be stepping up as the starter.

Look at these stats, the two LF studs are in the top 5 and representing 4a well

updated for games through 12/16

SCORING REGULAR SEASON

Player Team Year Pos Games G- A-PTS
TJ Oshie Warroad Sr F 8 13-20-33
Robby Dee Breck Sr F 8 19-11-30
Steve Festler Little Falls Sr F 8 16-12-29
Mikael Lickteig Little Falls Sr F 8 12-16-28
Justin Fulton Breck Jr F 7 10-14-24
Tony Lucia Wayzata Jr F 7 10-13-23
Ben Bengston Warroad Sr F 8 14- 9-23
Nick Zilka Mound-Westonka Sr F 8 12-11-23*
Mitch Ryan Cloquet/Esko/Carlton Sr F 9 10-13-23*
Kolby Dahl Mounds View Jr F 9 9-14-23
11

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... check00 at: 12/19/04 5:32 pm

Fergus

old school do you really believe that fergus can beat LF. I don't believe so not after that brutal loss to LF. Earlier in this thread I said it will be FF vs LF for section 4A championship. I now think it will be Wadena vs. LF. IF Wadena has even a half decent goalie and some quick forwards they will easily handly FF. I wasn't at all impressed with FF's play. Well maybe their JV team's play seriously it didn't even look like their varsity was on the same page. The goalie looked like he couldn't keep a gopher out of its hole even if he had it completely covered with his stick. Also the goalie let the LF fans behind him get into his head which should be blocked out especially when its a big game against your rivals.

LF vs FF

Post by shot003 »

Most of this will come off as an excuse to people but it does have some logic if you can really look into it. To little Falls the Fergus game means everything. It is there stanley cup. Granted this game should have been very important to Fergus too.The way LF celebrated after the game shows, it would have been a normal win to many other teams, but it means a lot to them. It is ingraved into fergus players that LF isn't good from all of the years prior to this. They don't come into the game thinking they can get beat. I know this. I was part of it. And I lost for the first time ever to them last year. so let the bashing start on my little theory.

I don't think your theory is an excuse, you are absolutely right. LF has had the snot kicked out of them over the years from FF and the Otters have knocked the Flyers out of a number of section finals. The mind set of players coming into a game is always interesting.

old school, wadena played well but the hawks are a fast team. The stick game in the metros alot different than we are use to. Wadena still had chances but missed the net alot.if i were a scout from little falls or fergus i would have alot of how to stop them info for the coachs from that game. They used a pretty neat forcheck for penilty killing and seeing how wadena was 7 for 8 previous powerplay goals hawks did an awh-----sume job. I think 3 of 4 goals for the hawks were on power play goals,1 maybe 2 were 5 on 3's.

Post by oldschool »

shot003..............I was going to say that as well, but I didn't know if that was still the case in Fergus, that they still had it in their heads that these teams suck and you cannot lose to them, thanks for the theory, I think it makes a lot of sense. One team gets up for the game the other team doesn't care.
Back a few years when DL was in section 4a, they beat Fergus in Fergus 6-1, it was probably DL's best year, Fergus turned around and beat them 6-1 in DL. In the section championship that year, Fergus a sub .500 Otter club beat the 5 loss DL team in OT. That otter team didn't have a lot of experience losing to DL.
Wadena plays in Fergus Falls on the 25th of January at 7:30, it is a Tuesday so I think I might be able to make it. The Otters are starting to get into the thick of their schedule and we will see what they are made of soon...................

im not going to take anything away from littlefalls they are a great team and proved it lately. But Those Little falls fans saying wadena doesnt have a chance? You have to be kidding you just got smoked a couple weeks ago by dl. I said then dl didnt have a chance of beating you guys. Im not saying anymore about who has a chance. If the top teams in section 4 are growing better, as apparent with each week, then losing a nobrainer as all 4 have, it tells me teams have along way to muture to the point any one team does or doesnt have a chance. Old school reading your post this fall talking about how great sports falls players and fans are, are you sure your still pulling for them if you dont make it? oh yeah i forgot about koonta haha
