Thats is hi-larioius!

No, but seriously this is the "Scores" thread.

Edina (2) @ Roseville (2)

I would look for this edina team...like i had said in an earlier post, beating hastings is an accomplishment, and they came out and worked thier tails off.

We came out flying once again, but couldnt get a good quality scoring oppertunity...lots of shots but they were one and dones. Refs started letting things go, and then my guys started worrying about them a little too much and lost focus. We went down 2-1 and had to score with the goalie pulled in order to tie the game. Good thing thats what we worked on in practice the night before!

Also i see that they updated the MHL site...but didnt have our anoka game and with the tie tonight...we move up past tonka and EP RED!?

Just proves more that the standings dont matter till the season is over.

Oh the other thing, Shows Centennial at 14-3, but i counted a 4th loss in thier schedule a while back?????

MHL site
CG from RV-

The league site is very poorly done. Always incorrect and infrequently updated. For example, Elk River is listed at 17-2-1, but has only played 19 games. Doesn't compute. White Bear Orange is also listed incorrectly.

I've tried to discuss it and have gotten nowhere. Pointless to even have a site, that's why we rely on each other for the Scores thread.

Just in case...
...anyone is following from the West here are a couple of Tonka's scores of late

Centennial (2), Tonka (1)

Tonka (5), Brooklyn Park (4)

I "happened" to be in the neighborhood and walked in and it was 3-1 BP after 2. It sounded like BP was giving the Skips everything they had. After what was lovingly referred to as a "Herbie" (reference to the late Herb Brooks to the kiddies)chat prior to period #3. Tonka came back to score 2 goals to tie it at three. BP answered that dinner bell and Tonka responded with another. Four a piece, 13 seconds left and a Tonka D makes a rink-wide (ill advised) to a streaking winger and he catches the great pass takes it to the house, shelfing the biscuit and leaving only 3 ticks on the clock. A great 3rd period and a good game to "watch".

IGH
IGH (3) @ Rochester White (1)

played this game with just 10 guys and missed some chances to have this game be 6-1 or more. Plus we had to play in the damn barns down there and it was -4 degrees at game time outside and it wasnt much warmer inside. Got Lakeville tomorrow. Its a must win for us if we want a shot at the #3 seed going into playoffs.

Hastings vs. Rochester Red
Rochester Red beat Hastings last night in D8 league play. I do not know the score because i got the info off stickstats and they dont show scores.

a real laugher
BAA (1) @ Roseville (<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

I will never understand why a bad team tries to use a stretch break out. All BAA tried to do was dump it past our D and it never worked. We went into keep away mode in the third. Only two guys were allowed to take shots our second goalie who was skating out and a player who only has 1 goal on the season.

Scarey game though. They had a kid, i was told was from SSP, who just completely forgot to take his psycho pills and spazzed in the second period and got the boot. He drew a penalty and then went back to the bench bitchin and moaning, sceaming how piss poor the officiating was, dropped half a dozen F bombs and looked like he started crying on the bench.

So yeah i cant see how you could tied this team at all unless your defenseman are just horrible and couldnt stop that swedish torpedo break out.

Hastings this weekend....can the unbeaten streak continue?

to be continued . . .

IGH
Lakeville (4) @ IGH (6)

I was totally shocked we played good tonight. The score doesnt show how well we played. We got up on them 5-2 going into the third. We coasted through the 3rd with them scoring two goals. One was with 6 seconds left with our 3rd liners out there because we didnt want our good guys getting into any crap that they were trying to pull us in to. I think we might just be out of this slump. If anyone plays these guys just be ready when you get a lead they will get chippy. We had another kid get hurt today at gym class and he cant play for a week luckily we dont have a game for a week.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... httrain at: 1/29/04 2:56 pm

Lakeville antics
I understand Lakeville pulled a lot of crap against SSP also. And at the end of the game, Lakeville was down 4-0 and one of their players shot the puck into the SSP bench hitting the coach.

EPB/Chaska
(Not so) News from the rinks . . .

EP Black (4) vs. Chaska (0)
SOG:
EP - 30
Chaska - 5

Apparently Chaska had a breakaway at the end of the game and the EP goalie made ahuge glove save. Very Hasek-esque. Other than that, not much to talk about. This weekend should show how the EP teams compare against each other.

In other news . . . there are unconfirmed reports that Minnetonka had a good practice last night. You heard it here first!

SLP Vs Armstrong
Wed 1/28/04
SLP 4 Vs Armstrong 5

When a team comes out and lowers theirselves to the level of compitition and the chippyness of the other team, you lose hockey games. Also giving up the go ahead goal as the 90 min buzzer goes off doesn't help either. Unusual for me, I have nothing further to say about this game.

"B'ville coach, I completely feel your frustration"

Coach guy
For those of us who are keeping score here...did you lose to BAA or what, the little "smiley-guy" is cute and all, but you left the score off the page...and what happen v Anoka??

Sorry to you too SLP...after a big W v Bville, you take it in the shorts v Armstrong, eh? Ouch. That sounds like coaching to me. HAHA<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"> kidding, of course.

Forget it...
.. I found the score I was looking for Coachn guy. Ya'll beat up on Anoka as everyone else has...forget it.

Re: Forget it...
Aparently an 8 with a ) gets you a smiley face with shades...go figure. We beat them 8-1 rat.

EP Tourney
(sorry, don't want to start a new thread)

Thursday was EP day at the EP Tourney . . .

In early action, EP Red posted its 27th goal-for over three days against Mahtomedi against only 1 goal-allowed. Tuesday's league victory by 17-0 and now this tournament victory of 10-1. Dirty bastards.

In the late game, EP Black put on a lackluster performance blanking Anoka 4-0 for its second consecutive 4-0 win in two days.

Friday's schedule includes:
The Hornets of Edina taking on the Cougars of Centennial in the early game and the Skippers (aka Mini-Warriors) of Minnetonka facing the Jaguars of Green Bay, WI as the late tilt.

Hey CG from the RV, if memory serves that is the same Canadien team that played in the Proctor Tourney. Don't think they did so well. I believe they lost to Edina or Brookings, SD in the first round. I will have to check past notes about the way that whole bracket played out. Proctor is a little far from the Cities, so I never got to see them play, though. Good luck to ya!

The EP's were looking for an ALL EP final, but
the Green Bay Jaguars spoiled that party. Shopuld be interesting to watch EP Black play Centennial in the 3rd Place game as Black was frustrated with GB and Centennial got real chippy toward the end of their game today v EP Red. All teams are playing hard and the Tonka, Edina Cons-Champ should be fun to watch too. The big game should see EP Red beating Green Bay and I predict this Red team being the best in the MHL in the end. They are too experienced and running wide open right now...They are the team to beat in either league at the JGB level. Just one Rat's opinion.

ssp vs albert lea
does anyone in albert lea know the difference between your skates and helmets? seriously those were the worst kids ive ever played against and the refs were even worse. we only beat them 3-1 because it was such a chippy game. we quit after they gave albert lea 20 min to find another goalie after theirs got kicked out for punching us too many times. all we did was ice it for the rest of the game so we could get out of there without getting hurt because #14 on albert lea tore my helmet off, tripped me and kicked me in the nose. All i can say is that after bleeding on the bench for 10 min, the refs still didnt call a damn thing. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">
SSP CAPTAIN #19

SLP This weekend
Sat 1/31/04
SLP 7 @ Forest Lake 3

Sunday 2/1/04
SLP 3 @ BAA 1

Both games were much more lopsided than the scores appear. It really suprises me that FL hasn't won a game yet. They seemed much better than an O fer team. They actually had us tied 2-2 at one point early in the game.

These were 2 important wins after a tough loss to Armstrong. Hopeing that we can take this confidence into our upcoming tough stretch Vs Elk River (Wed) then @ Edina (Fri) and @ Centennial (Sat). To remaining even a slight contender for a playoff spot we would have to win at least 2 of those three.

Ratifying the Rat
From the EP Tourney:

Anoka over Mahtomedi for 7th Place
Edina over Minnetonka for Consolation
EP Black over Centennial for 3rd Place
EP Red over Green Bay (in a rout) for 1st.

Black played well against Centennial and Red played very solid against a depleted Green Bay team. They found a way to break the Green Bay goaltender that the Black team was unable to the day before. Should give Red the edge going into their end of season matchup.

Weekend Games
Saturday

Burnville 7 BAA 3, this game was not this close. It could have been a lot worse. Their goalie make something like 42 saves. Our guys played well. Moved the puck well too, finally.

Sunday

I guess Wessy's boys had too much fun in the tournament they were in. They failed to show up for the game last night. Any idea what happens here? Do we get the Win or do we reschedule?

Bville -

Wessy's Boys
B'ville:
Check out the rule book on mhl.com
MHL Rule Book

excert from Page 27 of 31 in the above .pdf file:
"Team appearing gets a 3-0 Win.
The team not appearing is disqualified from playoffs as well as must pay $200 MHL league fine, pay for the officials and the ice time."

If this game is allowed to be rescheduled then they would pay the $100 reschedule fee.

I would suggest contacting your Dist rep for the MHL or Doug Teal, who you would fax your score sheet too.

The "No-show" rule...
...in the past was as stated in the MHL rule book. But the MHL will NOT allow the game to go in as a forfeit. The officials should be contacted immediately, Wessy's WILL pay a fine, and you will make that game up. I have been apart of the MHL since the inception of the U16 programs 5 years ago and they made our team travel to NSP for a game the day before our first playoff game just so there was no forfeit. Do contact your District Rep. Wessy's probably didn't have it on their schedules or flat out didn't show. That's typical of them.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub33.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUser ... nkRat22 at: 2/2/04 11:07 am
