Could be worse?

Post by MNHockeyObserver »

Would you rather have Centennial's back to back late games? (With work and school the next day?) Especially if you add in not finishing off the Braves (forever) and having to play extra time at the end of the night? Or perhaps you'd rather play the #9 seed instead of #12. GOD I HATE IT WHEN YOU BITCH ALL THE TIME ABOUT EVERY DAMN THING!!!!!!

Kidding. I'm still pissy I didn't get any Perkins this weekend or grape soda weeks ago. Keep your Cocoa Puffs, I'm a Capt'n Krunch guy.

Cue grandpa simpson " Bitch Bitch Bitch" yeah there is some ranting goin on, and yes i would rather have Centennials late games. I am more of a evening person, and have no problem with the later ones. Plus despite me writing here right now i am working, and will only get 6 hours in today cause ill have to leave early to make it out to the arena...

mmm...Capt'n Krunch with cruch berries

Rat's night in Plymouth

Post by RinkRat22 »

Funny thing is, CG, with that go-tee you look a little like Grandpa Simpson! HA.

Since I had a good night of predictions for Monday evening, I'll take another stab at it for Wednesday's games:

First up is the Raiders v Skips. Even though I pull for the underdog, I will predict a much better game then the 7-1 two weeks ago. The skips have shed their excess weight, but Roseville should win 4-3.

Second of the night is Red v Edina. I am convinced that Red is done. I think the Hornets will overpower the damaged Red Eagles. Edina wins by 3.

The other rink will find Orange v RAVE. I think this might be the most entertaining. I believe RAVE has what it takes to win this one but I say were looking at OT here. Orange prevails 6-5 in OT.

My upset is in the night-cap. Centennial v Black Bears will be fun and back and forth. Regardless of who's out for Cen, (the other) Black team gets theirs 5-4.

I am only one Rat here and always look for great match-ups. I think that this might rival Monday night's action. The Rat will be lurking...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... lasses.gif ALT="8)">

Backdoor

Post by SLP Coach »

In the Backdoor to Regions (also known as Rd 2 of Districts):
In what will be the final game of the season for 4 of these 8 teams. Here are my Predictions:
5:45 PIC B
Rose Vs Tonka:
Roseville's speed and overall puck movement will be to much for Tonka to out muscle, but it doesn't mean that they won't try. Expect a physical first period with Rose taking a 2-1 lead. The 2nd Tonka will try to speed it up a bit and lay off the body, but to no avail. Rose takes a 3-1 lead into the final stanza. Tonka comes back out in the 3rd trying to slow down Rose and it works, at first. Tonka scores first in the 3rd to cut it to a 1 goal game. With a minute left Tonka will put their goalie and put a flurry of shots on the net but Rose's Tender will make a couple of "stand on his head" type saves to take Roseville to the next round 3-2.

7:30 PIC B
EP-Red Vs Edina:
This is going to be a very tough game to call. Edina will come out and play their style of hockey which will suck EP-Red into playing that way too. Much hitting and chippyness will insue. Which ever team has the knack to burry the puck will take home the win. I think EP-Red will have that on their side tonight taking home a 4-2 win and advancing to play Roseville.

8:30 PIC A
WBL-O Vs RAVE:
This one on the big ice has to favor WB-O for two reasons. Their over-all speed and that they played on that same rink just two days ago. As well as playing the the Wayzata tourney held at the same location. This should be a fairly high scoring affair with Orange putting the puck home more often. WB-Orange 6 RAVE 3. WB-O advances.

9:15 PIC B
Cent Vs WBL-B:
This could be the best match-up of the night. Both teams play in low scoring games and wait to capitolize on others mistakes. I see a 2-2 tie until late in the game (maybe even OT) when Cent breaks an odd man rush due to a WB player "catching a rut in the ice" and putting the puck home on a pretty pass out front. Cent advances in a 3-2 game.

Well, I wasn't very close on monday's games, but maybe tonight I'll be better. Only time will tell. Good luck tonight to all teams and ....... let the games begin!!!!

Where are all the updates? CoachGuy's team and The Rat's following should have been the first one done, but nothing! I get box tickets to the Timberwolves - a damn fine game in its own, by the way - and opt for a couple cocktails instead of a night at the rink and you guys give me nothing. All the love I try to share and this is what I get. I get more love from my wife . . .AND THAT AIN'T SAYIN' MUCH!!

Yer lucky I'm too drunk to bitch anymore. I need some of CoachGuy's Cocoa Puffs and serious f'n nap. Outta the way, woman! I'm goin' to bed!!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY AT THE PIC

Post by RinkRat22 »

GAME ONE: Yes, it's true there was a big upset in this one. Tonka came out and scored 2 goals before Rville could take a breath. 3-4-5-6 goals before Rville got their lone goal. Skippers (6), Raiders (1). Nice season to the CG and all the seniors on the Silver & Black!

GAME TWO: EP Red and Edina played a slow, heartless game for a chance to play Cinderella aka Da Skips. Red scored first, followed by Edina tying it up before the 3rd. Red scored with 6 minutes left and the Edina quit. EP Red (2), Edina (1).

GAME THREE: Orange Bears and RAVE played an up and down game on PIC A and it looked as though RAVE was happy to be in the playoffs and they had their opportunities. Orange (3), RAVE (1).

GAME FOUR: A yawner for the people watching last night's night-cap. Centennial dominated the Black Bears from about the middle of the 1st period on and finished them off in the 3rd. Centennial (6), Black Bears (2).

Only favored team not to advance to the "Back-door Semi-Finals" was Roseville. Which put then the Rat 2-2 on his predictions - not as good as Monday's. But a classy bunch of kids and coaches form Rville who have come a long way to walk into a Barn-Storm.

Games last night

Post by rave35 »

Rat to say the least i disagree with part of what you said... The players of RAVE came to play, but couldnt throw a check or play their style because of terrible officiating. We were short handed all game, we got the shaft as far as some bounces and couldnt get anything started. When we got our goal we went down and attacked for three minutes, then got called on a weeny call. The penalty was for a high stick, and he dropped his stick when he hit the kid, and we also lost our defensemen to a butt ending stick when he didnt have it... Kinda hard to butt end when you dont have a stick. they ran me all night without a penalty, then we took care of our net and got called for roughing, their goalie threw three punches infront of the net and nothing happened. I am not saying that it was all the refs but since we began rave we have had a bad rep, time for officials to see that we are playing hockey and not fighting... Congrats to Mtka, centennial, and EP red, good luck to those three teams and i hope to see you all on Friday.

The RAVEst of Fans...

Post by RinkRat22 »

I saw a partial game, Rave35er, so I didn't pick up all the BS. I heard you explain that situation last night and it sounds like you got jobbed. It is hard to get something started when you're always in the box. I understand your (and your team's) frustration about the officiating, but was as it was. As your coach said following the game: RAVE should be proud of what they accomplished this year - making the playoffs for the first time ever - and not reflect on one game. You are a class-act and I never saw one "slap-ass" in a RAVE uniform this season!

p.s. BTW, what is up with the RAVE uni's?? You guys look like Wayzata - and that's not a compliment. Do you wear jerseys that reflect the town you're playing in at game time? PETE's POSSE: Sanction new colors for the boys next year!

FRIDAY!

Post by rave35 »

hey rat it was nice to finally meet you on wednesday, congrats on the win, and CG it was nice to see you again.

FRIDAY!

MTKA vs. Red- You know, as bad as red has been, before yesterday, they sort of showed up. I think this game comes down to defensive zone and breakouts. Red and tartan both played horrible games against each other on monday. Neither covered on D. So MTKA could pull away when and if Red has no D. Red 5-4 win and Tonka loses on a bad bounce.

Centennial vs. Orange- Plays into 2 different games. Centennial is more of a speed and stick handling team, Orange is a physical, chippy team. If the officials wake up and see the game Centennial will bounce through. I think it will be Centennial 5-2. there goalie played awesome for B'ville game, time to show your stuff again kid.

As MNHO so eligantly put it, time to golf in different cities.
rave35

WBO vs. RAVE

Post by WBO17 »

We arent going to go down easy! Sorry to say but you have a cheap team on your hands there RAVE and a well deserved loss. #7 should actually take a nap durring naptime at kindergartden. He is all talk and nothing to back. All I could do was laugh as I listened to him talk and fuel #8 (Skoog), he was askin to get his head takin off. He obviously didnt learn the power of #8 in our last matchup. I personally took a cheap elbow in the head early in the second that now leaves stiches in my chin. We have 2 days to rest now before we take on Centennial. Weve done it before and we can do it again. If we are on, we are on. We have been in sort of a slump lately but I think this win over will RAVE will boost the morality and the seniors on the team are starting to realize how near the end of their hockey careers could be. We are going to make it to regions, we have unfinished buisness with ER's monsterous goalie.

Rave vs WBO

Post by WBO8 »

It's about time we found out about this site. All year no one from our team has know about it but now we get to stand up for ourselves. RAVE thinks that we are a cheap team simply because they are angry. I can see why when one of your best players talks trash in a previous game and it blows up in his face, literally. I thought that both of us played a good hockey game. I don't care what game any body talks about, the officiating is going to be bad from someone’s point of view. I would much rather let things go. More of a high school hockey type of play. After all it is hockey and not basketball or soccer right? For the people that complain about hacks and goons they are letting them get to them and that is what they want. All I have to say to them is toughen up or get off of the ice!
