This years teams
So yeah, i am not coaching this year but i did take part in the tryouts for the Roseville JGB team, and i feel sorry for everybody not on that team. The main core of players is returning and have several additions that will improve the overall skill of this team.

my $.02

sincererly
I used to be coach guy

Just had our first ice on wednesday and have 13 skaters and 3 goalies. We have only one kid from last year on the team. Are strength will be our goaltending. Our only senior is one of our 3 goalies. He was on the varsity team last year but quit part way through the season and decided to year to play Jr Gold. It will be a tough year for use because we have alot of sophmores and three first year players.

Got to watch SSP and they are in the same boat as us. Alot of underclassmen. They have some better skaters than us but their goaltending is weaker. our weakest goalie would be their best goalie.

All in all dont expect much out of D8 this year. Hastings will be heads and shoulders above everyone this year and after that i would say Rochester and then i would say Woodbury and Lakeville. There will only be 7 teams this year in D8.

White Bear Lake
Both White Bear teams will be good this year. WB Black has solid netminding and is good throughout.

St. Louis Park
St. Louis Park will not be having a Jr. Gold team this season.
3 of the players from my team last year are now playing HS Hockey, 1, a sophmore, is seeing Varsity time already and I expect that playing time to increase as the year goes on. 2 others have gone to other associations to play Jr Gold.

My coaching staff and myself are coaching the Peewee A team here in SLP as well as keeping in close contact w/ the players from last season and the HS team. Let me tell you, it is quite a change from coaching 15-18 yr olds to coaching 11-12 year olds.

Best of luck to all the teams this season and HAVE FUN.
I will be sure to check out some games as the year goes on. Hope to see some of you around the rinks.

Re: St. Louis Park
Chaska has another JGB this year. Only a couple returning players so most of the team is new. All though most of the talent is all around instead of last year couple good players and couple not as good.

since our first night we have add two players. One is a Soph that is a good forward and the other is a kid that was on last years team that finally decided to play. He is a good senior Dman. Looks like our strength will be defense. we have a few good forwards that can score but if we get into any shootouts with teams it will be tough. We also cut two of the first year skaters. they just couldnt cut it. so we have 13 skaters and 3 goalies

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... httrain at: 12/3/04 5:45 pm

TTHOCKEY
My job is to identify talent outside of the High school programs. We usally find a handful of kids that have the potential to skate DIII or Junior B level teams. So I try to identify teams that have the best talent. I hope this answers your question.

Moorhead
If you are looking for talent, you might want to check out a few Moorhead games. They have some kids that quick High School and went to Junior Gold. I believe they have 4 skaters and a goalie with some quality talent. They are playing in the Fargo, North Dakota tournament this weekend I thought I heard on the radio.
