Wayzata's 3Peat

Post by 3WayTitles »

Congrats to Wayzata for continuing their domination of the league with another state title. I know Wayzata is the first Jr. Gold team to win 3 in a row, have any other teams at other levels done the same???

Congratulations to Wayzata.

This was a very classy team with classy coaches.

I think there might be a midget team(s) from Edina that won 3 in a row in the 70's, also that had a national championship in there. I would assume this midget league is the equivalent to JG.

Wayzata played well at the end of the year when it counted and some younger players stepped it up at D and in the net to help them win their 3rd consecutive title. It just shows you how a team effort can outwiegh an indivual's effort i.e. Edina. Not saying that they are not a good squad but that they try to depend to much on #18 to score their goals for them. Great run for all of the "Final Four" teams....
