Albert Lea's Goalie JGB

Post by gunit612 »

Aaron Miller is his name and i think he has to be one of the finest goalies and kids i have ever seen. He mad 39 saves against EP and Frustrated the hell outta us we beat them 4-2, and then went on to make another 54 saves the very next night in a loss to chaska 2-1. I was also impressed with his kids Moral and work ethic, he was just happy to get to play in state against the larger programs. He made 93 saves in 2 games allowing 6 goals on 99 shots. That works out to roughly a .92223 Save %. Very good considering (sorry Albert lea) the team around him wasn't very strong. Anyone else get to see this kid? I would love to hear what you have to say?

Coach Griffn EP JGB

I met him Saturday night as we watched your game vs. Brainard. He is a great kid. Just like you said, he was happy to just be there and a great sense of humor. He knew the limits of his team and knew it was his job if they were gonna go anywhere and he took that responsibility. Great kid. Definitely got a shot to play some junior hockey.

Aaron Miller was an outstanding goalie. I remember when he was in B bantams they had a tournament in st cloud and albert lea got dead last but he was the mvp of the tournament because he made like 180 saves in 3 games. He was outstanding til he got himself into trouble and didnt play for 2 or 3 years. If he would have kept with it he would have been something completely amazing at the high school level this year.

I would like to thank everyone for their praise of Aaron, he is very deserving of this as he played very well and is a great team leader. I beleive the rest of my team also played well (first game jitters against EP, but we did score first). The game against Chaska I believe was ruined by poor referees and did not give us a chance to play. But thats in the past and I believe we will be back again next year and play better because we have been there before. Hopefully I can find another exceptional goalie. Thanks again coach Griffn, and hopefully we will see you again next year. Coach Anderson
We watched your game against Roseville, tough bounce at the end but an exceptional game.

ALcoach.

I agree that the refereeing was terrible. and when the ref of the EP Roseville game tells the EP goalie "you FN lost. deal with it" that about said it all for me.

I am thinking about sending the tape of the game with Chaska to Minnesota hockey to see what they think about the game and the great ref's that controlled the game. I noticed that the Roseville-Eden Prairie game had the same ref's, what did you guy's think of the job they did for that game? I watched the game an d was not impressed.

We should care? Everybody should care. If its poor reffing, make note of it to the tournament director. If kids where sworn at and caught on tape, definitely forward to the tournament director. Unfortunately, hockey0711 is correct, nothing will happen to the ref(s).

Most district head officials could care less about your complaint. They assume you are just complaining and upset about the performance of the "for profit" individuals on the ice.

There is one individual, that I go to and respect and will listen is Eric Olson, I think he is the MNHOCKEY head referee. Great person to talk to and if you have evidence, I am sure he would listen.

The refs in the Chaska vs. Albert Lea game were amazing compared to the refs in the Chaska vs. Hastings game. That game was completely horrible with Chaska playing a lot of the third period short handed and 5 on 3 a couple of times.

you should have seen the refs for the brainerd-vs-omg.they were horrible.they through a kid out for three penalties and he wasn't on the ice for two of them. They put guys into the box after the next after they should of called it and .brsinerd didn't care about the game in the third period but they still wen't out in class with no fights.

refs

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that during the third period of Chaska's game against Albert Lea the ref missed a goal that we scored so the reffing wasn't so one sided in that hockey game anyways.
