difference between jgb and jga
how much of a difference is their between jgb and jga. Is it just a little quicker pace? I watched a few jga games this year and i thought our team could play with them. what do you guys think the difference is between the 2 levels

JGA & JGB
Well i have to tell you that there is a huge difference...I have coached both levels, and the A game is MUCH better. Few reasons:

1. The best teams, are 10 times better than the worst JGA teams, That means that your JGB team would be far behind.

2. Most teams are Seinor Dominiated. If your JGB team had a bunch of sophomores, they would be Physically inferior to guys that are 2 years older.

3. Passing, and playmaking at the JGA level are far superior to the B level

4.SPEED KILLS. Most JGA teams have 1 line, or the whole team is much faster. JGB is a slow paced game, JGA will crank up the speed every game.

5.Lastly, Goalies in JGA are insane. Duluth's gaolie, Wessy's Boys, EP, Wayzata...They all have great goalies. You need to be a pure scorer to be sucessful.

To make a point, the JGB team you had could not beat any of the top JGA teams, and would fight to beat the worst teams. I had a JGB team that lost 8 games, in 04-05, they got second in state, and they would admit that if they played our JGA team from last year, they would have got KILLED.

Re: JGA & JGB
my jgb team was one of the best in the state and most of our team will be seniors next year and we will probably be getting some players from the varsity team so i was just wondering if it would be worth our team to go a next year or if we should stay b

is jga the pace of a jv game?

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ildfan3 at: 3/22/06 10:23 am

Re: JGA & JGB
A good JGA team is better than JV. Ep, Wayzta, WBL, and I am sure there are others, that would give a lot of high school varsity teams a good game.

If your team has any former JV or varsity players, that team should be playing at the A level. You would be bored at the B level.
The norm for B teams is/are players that did not play any JV or Varsity and where cut from JGA. Some teams at the JGB level had former varsity and JV players but they did not have an A team. Is this the appropriate level? Who knows, I can not make that determination.

I would pick Woodbury, Wayzata, Edina, Lakeville, Inver Grove, Minnetonka, WHite Bear Lake Orange at the JGB level that could compete against the JGA teams that did not make it to state and make it a competitive game.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... troll21 at: 3/22/06 11:11 am

JGA vs JGB
JGA is as fast as Varsity...Sometimes. Depends on the quality of the teams playing. I know every time EP played WBL it was Fast. If you have past Varsity players play at the JGA level, it will be competition that is fun.

.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ...
