My daughter received numerous text messages from a couple of schools during the recruiting time.

I guess this is becoming more the norm.
The part that I also found interesting was the "knowing your audience" piece. I mean, I guess I understand some of the abbreviations being used, but if the student-athlete gets the impression that you're talking down to them but trying to "fit in" like a teenager that isn't a good thing either! I also though that was a funny story about the recruit that sent a text to a coach that was meant for his girlfriend! You gotta love technology!
