On Wednesday, October 26th, Scott King suddenly passed away. Scott King had played a critical roll in the running of our association for several years. Most recently he was the the Girls Varsity coach, game scheduler, rink manager, zamboni driver, board member, advertising recruiter among other things. He has touched all of our lives, and our childrens lives, in one way or another and will always be remembered for all the good he did and for his devotion to youth hockey.
Scott left a lot of shoes to be filled and all of us have to step up and make sure the association continues to run as smoothly. Scott would expect no less, and would insist that the kids and the game of hockey come first.
We are waiting to hear from his family about details regarding funeral arrangements, etc. and will pass on this news as soon as we can.
Also, Mike Isola is going to put together a tribute to Scott King and is requesting you share items about Scott. It could be a funny story, something that you remember, some history, What Scott was like, his youth, etc. Please send anything you have to Mike at mikei@wadenapj.com or isola56482@arvig.net or you can call him at 632-5125.
A public viewing/memorial service for Scott King will be held at the Community Center, on-ice, on Monday October 30th at 3pm.
