Post your deer hunting results and see who has the patience for the big bucks and does.

Patience? Sometimes you have to take whatever you see because there might not be anything later on. Kinda like those hockey players who pass up decent scoring chances and hold onto the puck hoping that a great one will come along. They end up getting knocked on their breezers.

That is true as I normally shoot the first deer I see, but I think most people here would agree that to get the big buck you need patience and cunning.

Cunning eh? Haha
Along with patience you have to be ok with going home without a deer and living with all the smack talk that you are going to receive because of it.
Or you can just rely on luck and hope that one stumbles upon you.

I shot a nice 6 point at approx. 6:55 a.m. Saturday morning. The deer was only about 10-20 yards from me. It was a nice symmetrical deer. The biggest I have shot in my 13 years of hunting. Sunday evening at the last possible moment I got a doe. Not bad for the first weekend I will be back in my stand starting on Thursday!

I think it was a reference to an "incident" in Wisconsin?

I didn't see too much but our party got three bucks and a doe. I'll be back out Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

Darth
Are you posting on 94 or 169?
If you want to use my backyard - 19 points non-typical; 12 pointer; 2 10's and a bunch of other nice small bucks. About 40 does and similar fawns, yearlings.
But no rifles, muzzelers, handguns, or shotguns.

I've got my bare hands, will that work?
I will actually be up near your "neck" of the woods Elliott, but not quite near enough.
Btw, any books in the near future? I'll be stuck reading Patterson or Flynn during the weekend this year.

What about John Sanford???
or Scott Turow's Ordinary Heros.
Southern Heat is in the works - writing stage then to editing then to press - I am behind schedule (Dec 1 release) but now looking at May 1.
