Chaska
What were Wayzata Blue's major strengths and weaknesses? Chaska?

Wayzata looked like theycould move the puck very well. but Chaska jumped on them nice. The difference in the game was Wayzata limited there mistakes while Chaska made too many. Wayzata's powerplay was very good, and Chaska's was horrible. Chaska's goalies didn't look very good but at the game I was talking with some of the parents from there and they said they lost one of their stud goalies to the "A" team.

Richfield Tourny
The Richfield tournament was very unbalanced, I think as unbalanced as possible. On one side of the bracket there was richfield, prior lake, cottage grove, and buffalo. On the other side there was burnsville, edina, WBL, roseville. As a result there was a 10-0 "championship" game (Edina over Cottage Grove) and a 9-1 3rd place game (Burnsville over Buffalo).

Yes, 36299 is from EP and yes he is always talking about EP. Doesn't mean he knows anything about EP. Just always talking about EP. I kid 'cause I care.
I do need to correct him, though, on the Blake scrimmage. The score was indeed 5-1, but it could have been 5-4 or it could have been 10-1. Goaltending was the big difference in the game. There were many points that Blake outplayed Black, but couldn't capitalize. For those who have been around, Blake is a very different team than last season. More depth, less stars. And G*d am I glad to be rid of Nick Brunette. Now I can sleep at night.
And, if you remember an earlier post, Icebreaker, I think I mentioned wanting to watch Bville and Edina in the "final" on Saturday night. There was bound to be blowouts, but much better to have them in the early rounds than the final, you are right there!

I did go to the Wayzata Chaska game. I thought Chaska looked like a nice team. They forecheck hard have some size, and seem like they have some talent. It was their first game so I think some of those mistakes they made (HUGE MISTAKES, 2 shorthanded goals given up) will be corrected. I would look for them to be there in D6.
You are right about Wayzata, they limited their mistakes. I think they held Chaska to one shot in the second period. I dont think that Blue's intensity was all there from my observations of their coach, (visibly upset at they're performance) they are a much better team than that game. If that's the case they beat a good team playing poorly. They really have some tough Defenseman and can move the puck quickly. I was also surprised at the physical play they showed. That wasnt their style at all last year under this coach. We'll see what happens next, I think they play Green on Thursday.

Eagan Beats Jefferson 2-1. Eagan pretty much dominated the whole game. Neither team moved the puck well.
In the 1st D6 game, Edina Green lost to Edina White 2-0, with one of the goals being scored on a 3-on-1 with less than a minute left. It was even for a while until the 3rd, where it looked like Green was tired.

I missed the first 6 minutes of the game, were there 25 shots for Jefferson? That is the only way possible that Jefferson could've tallied 35 shots. Yeah you're right, Jefferson outplayed Eagan, considering the puck was in Jefferson's DEFENSIVE zone the entire 2nd period. You must be looking through powder blue glasses there buddy. Oh, and by the way, how was Jefferson's goal scored? Rebound.

Edina game surprises me. Green had lots of momentum. Maybe White is the team to beat from Braemar! Big one tomorrow with Blue versus Green. Anyone going? I cant make it to that one. Wish I could, I want to see if Blue is the real deal. Anyone have opinions on this. Icebreaker has got to! He's officially The Don of B1.

I agree...
Green has got to be pissed about losing to White. That could motivate anyone. With the way they started its hard for me to see them losing two in a row all season.
That being said, they are playing Wayzata Blue who may have something to prove to themselves as well. I dont believe they've played since Chaska last weekend. That may be an asset. Solid week of practice.I agree it will be close. I WISH I COULD GO!

Burnsville Bantam B1s
Does anyone have any insight on Burnsville. I heard they are well coached.

Blue beat Green 4-1. I got there late in the third. Talking to some parents it sounded like Blue was dominant. I heard they didnt allow a shot until deep into the 2nd period. Can anyone verify?
I did notice Green's coach was the incarnation of Herb Brooks and put them on the line after the game. NOT GOOD!

Maybe the Green coaches are the type that have the kids do some skating after every game. Something I have never understood. Even so, why would you do that at an AWAY game??
Seems the more interesting matchup will be Blue vs. White in the semi of the Moose. 2:45p. Put it on the Calendar after a long night of Prep Bowl XXVVIIMCMXVIIXXX-3 . . .or whatever we are on now. (Oh, and HG1486, take a look at the Moose bracket and tell me a better job could not have been done at Richfield. Start based on last year's final rankings and you would have been in better business for an exciting final!
)
Still can't get my hands on a bracket for Roseville's Turkey Bash. I think they are still sitting with 7 teams. Predictions will have to wait for that one. I did get a peek at the SuperRink Spectacular for T-giving Weekend and here's how I'm rollin' . . .
Armstrong beats Blank (Probably 1-0, duh! What is wrong here, two tournaments that can't get filled for Thanksgiving? Are there too many thanksgiving tournaments out there??
), of course I will have to re-write if I see someone filled in for Blank, EP Red beats up on Tartan and may post a shutout, Maple Grove beats Wayz Gold (nice of the tournament to put the D3 teams against each other in Game 1, jesus people THINK ABOUT IT!
), and host Mounds View beats Spring Lake Park. On Day 2, Blank pulls a surprising upset of Tartan . . .everyone still with me? . . .and EP Red destroys Armstrong in a penalty filled event, Gold beats SLP and Maple Grove tops The View. SLP beats Blank early Sunday before Gold takes bronze (or whatever Cons. is) over Tartan, Mounds View tops Armstrong and EP Red outscores Maple Grove in a game that is closer than the score indicates continuing D6's winning ways in early tournaments.
D6 matchup tonight. Season openers for Burnsville and EP Black. Anyone else planning to go? EG91 kind of has to be there. SPS? i00b? I'll be the guy watching the game. Look for me. Predictions on the outcome?
