I was trying to save on the electricity ER because they arent worth spending any on and they sure dont have any.

It is comical though, on KFAN this AM they were talking about how the Vikes now are out of the WC lead and they were especially concerned because SF and GB have the tiebreakere. Tie breakers! They cant get a first down in the second half at home vs an arch rival and they are talking about tie breakers.

Get a nice stiff wisk broom, do the edges real thoroughly, then sweep out the center part and suck the rest up in ERs Hoover.

Went out to the ledge last night to see who was hanging around. I was surprised to not find any Viking fans. I can only presume they already jumped or nobody cares anymore. I was hoping to get a few words with Coach Childress, Kevin Lockwood said he was still on the set of Major Dad, but would definitely be around later. Danny Monson was in good spirits last night, I got a chance to shake his hand as he was on his way in as I was on my way out.

I don't know, so I can only presume that today's efforts fell short.

Sure they care Neut.

We have a section in the paper devoted to it. We have TV shows on Sunday night devoted to it. We have a whole radio station devoted to it.

We have Viknings Extra, Vikings this and Vikings that.

People plan their lives around the flippin Vikings.

Why? I have no clue. They have never won a champonship. Never.
They havent been to their leagues championship game in 30 years. 30 Boofin years. When they make the playoffs, its either a short run or an embarrasing finish or both.

But we continue to flock to them like sheep.

If the Arizona game sells out, Ill be dissapointed.

Anyway, forget the broom, forget the vacuum, get a pressure washer and a gallon of Hi-lex.

Skol.

I lay a lot of responsiblity on Brad. What's up with him? He has been making alot of bad decessions, something he's not know for. I believe he was kept in the QB spot because he was Mr. safe handling the football and not making mistakes. I know he doesn't have much to throw at this year, is he trying to push it...make something happen?

This is all in lieu of Chesters fumbles

Come on Zygi, you promised! ](*,)

Amen to that Neut.

Id rather go to a spring training game than watch another minute of Viking football and the Nordeast offense.

We have seen spring training games in Tempe, Orlando, Fort Meyers and Sarasota. Its great.

What a great win vs the Cards!

I was dissapointed when I heard they won. I figured if they lost to the Cards at home, they'd would bag the season and clean house.

Id rather see them lose and get a high #1 pick. Maybe they could draft a Troy Williamson or somebody really good like that.

How in the Boof do you draft a wide reciever who cant track the ball nor catch it when he does.

Their #1 pick is on the DL and their #2 is on the practice squad...and he is an offensive lineman where they have been hutin all year!

No broom, no Hoover , no pressure washer,.... get a fire hose.

The Cards are even worse than the Vikings and they still almost pulled it out.

I liked the way this team started out the season, emphasizing defense and a ball control-type offense but it seems like the league has adjusted and now it's the Vikings turn to adjust which they really haven't done yet.

Like packerboy says it's time to get ready for next season. Even if by some miracle they make the playoffs they'll be one and out. The thing is this regime has not been good at making decisions on the fly so I imagine they'll keep the ship turning in circles till the season's over. This team presents a lot of conundrums for its coaching staff and it doesn't seem like they've made much of a dent in solving them. To start with, the offensive line should be ginding away like a well-tooled machine by now and they still look like the Keystone Kops out there.

Sure ChrisK but they already have a 1,000 yard rusher in Taylor and he is a former backup. How bad can the O line be?

Its hard to have an offense with no wide recievers and Brad Johnson at QB.

I like Brad and I was glad when they signed him as a backup but come on. He was never anything more than above average and now he is 38.

When Denny was here, that was one position that was always pretty solid. Its now is a big weakenss and they are as thin at QB as they have ever been.

Same is true at WR. When the Robinson boys went down, it was thin. Again, as thin as it has been in a long time.

The result is ..no O.

This franchise cant get it together. When they have a great O, the defense is bad. When the D is solid, its no O.

Get rid of everybody and start over. Now. They have no good young players. None. The drafts lately have sucked.

I am not entertained by last second nail biters vs the 2-8 Cardinals.

Sure Taylor has 999 yards but he is second in the NFL in rushing attempts and only 29th in 4.0 yards/carry. He may have been a backup but he is arguably the most talented player on this offense. Part of the problem with the offense has been the lack of holes for Taylor and the lack of time to throw for Johnson. With the money they've thrown into the line they should be dominant by now and Taylor shouldn't be facing a conundrum every time he touches the ball.

You're exactly right on the other two points though, the receivers have been awful especially when Robinson was out and Johnson has not been the smart, disciplined player he was in the past.

At this point they really don't have a lot to lose by throwing Jackson out there to give him some experience and find out what he's got. Johnson is not the future of this team so they should find out if Jackson could be. And I would give Taylor fewer touches, he's almost doubled his previous career high and it's not worth it potentially burning him out this season.

I do still like the defense though their weaknesses were exposed by Brady and subsequent teams have followed suit. They were getting a much better pass rush earlier in the season and I wonder how much the loss of Erasmus James hurts them. It's not good when your last two no.1 picks are both on the IR. Still, the defense is significantly improved and that's the foundation championship teams are built on. Problem is, they've just got the basement dug, there's a long ways to go.

Who is a 'great player' on their roster that they drafted?

'Great Player' - someone who makes everyone else better by simply being in the huddle.

Kevin Williams is close.

Matt Burke is there.

Thats it.

ChrisK, the significantly improved D just gave up 400 yards passing to a rookie.

Hutch, Birk, and the Williams' are the only great players this team has. The problem? None of those guys make plays with the football, which is what this team sorely needs. The secondary is decent, but Dwight Smith and Fred Smoot need to go. They give up a lot of yards b/c their run D is so good, but also because the scheme allows short passes to be completed at will. Winfield, Griffin, and Sharper have all played pretty well, but offenses have started to abuse Smoot.

I don't know what the Vikings are because they don't either. Tomlin came to MN armed the with the Tampa 2. I believe the Tampa 2 is designed to smother the pass. What are the Vikes #1 at? Rush defense. The franchise is like a blind guy walking around with a long stick right now. There is no ryhme or reason to their successes or failures.

What's their future plan at QB? All indications to me are that they will run Brad Johnson out there again next year.

Exactly right whoever said this. "They have nobody holding the ball that can make plays."

I swear I live in Boston, with all the Patroit games I've been getting. Shame on every NFL team that needs a playmaker who passed on Maroney. He isn't a good back, he's special. I trully screwed up by not recognizing exactly how great he was at the U.

The D will come around against the pass within the next couple years. They have guys playing at positions that they have never played before. Our LBs aren't made for Tomlin's scheme and we have 2 FS's. Give him some years to bring in "his" kind of people and then we'll see how good we can get.

TWill was the 5th WR on Sunday. I know he can drop passes, but I didn't think he could drop on the depth chart that much. For some reason I see us releasing him and then him figuring out how to catch for someone else and us looking stupid like the David Ortiz thing. We do need to redo the O and draft some playmakers, no doubt.

Viking players sponsoring/attending fundraisers consisting of hip hop artists, alcohol, off-days, and late night hours will need to be addressed in Zigi's employee handbook of conduct for the '07 season.
