I heard that Chris Hickey is out for a while, so that will help Marshall out when they CDH, but even with him out does Marshall really have a shot at winning this game? Not trying to put down marshall cause they are a very good team, but CDH is much better.. im jw how much of a differnce it will be with Chris Hickey out

Mj79, please get your facts straight before you start bashing Marshall. Please post all the games marshall "blew" within the last 3 or 3 years. I can think of a couplre that were already mentioned the STA games and Minnetonka even though they went on to win that game. The Minnetonka game wasn't their fault either but the goalies who got rattled and let in 5 after he let in an icing. Please get your facts straight before posting something like that

gAMES
st. thomas in state final
st. thomas this year
minnetonka though they won
i believe they blew a 4 goal game against cretin? 2-3 years ago
****last year they blew about 5-6 big leads and had the games had gone another period, the other team might have won

oh and they tend to blow it in the playoffs
years blowing high seeds in section tournament
1998
1999 (2 seed losing to 3)
2000 (1 seed)
2002 (1 seed)
2003 (1 seed)
2004 (1 seed)

exceptions
2001 STATE as 2 seed
2005 STATE as 1 seed
2006 STATE as 1 seed

i don't think many teams can do that

Its kinna hard to say a 2nd and 3rd place finish are blowing it. Im not trying to agrue this point either but how many times lets say in the past 10 years have a 1 seed won state? I'm just kinna curious.

They played Cretin 3 years ago, i dont know about blowing a lead but i know they won the game. i agree with you that they tend to blow big leads, but they still win like 95% of them

Good Point Hawk. Every team makes it down there because they deserved it. Once you make it to state you might as well throw the seeds out because its anyone games. Look at Rapid last year. they didnt win but they give it their all and did damn well.

Couldnt agree more mnhhs, its all about the W's. And true state is anyones tourney, you have already accomplished alot just by making it there. Play hard do you best, thats was matters.

I dont see why everyone is bashing Marshall for getting big leads and then slipping a little bit and letting the teams get back in the game. Like 5 years ago marshall probably didnt even have a winning record and now they are tieing the number one team in class A. and going to state the last 2 years in a row and getting second and third place. Sure alot of you are going to say they are only good now because they recruit, but they couldnt recruit five years ago because no one is going to transfer to marshall to play hockey for a losing team. Every high school in minnesota trys to recruit kids to their school, so dont bash marshall for having a good hockey team

They played by different rules. If a basketball team played with only 4 men on the court you wouldn't expect anyone to count it, why for hockey? It was a tie. What was BS is the fact that they played that way.

It was a holiday tournament that was hosted by marshall. minnetonka;s coach got a set or rules probably before the tournament started and he should have read them and if he didnt like them then he should have gotten his team out. If the rules said they start OT 4 on 4. then thats how you do it. it is BS that he went and complained when they lost.

Yeah but the teams agreed when they signed up for the hilltopper tourney. They would play 4 on 4 2 keep games from dragging on and make sure things stay on schedual, but someone messed up paper work or soemthing like that.
