It appears that many who did, turned around and sold them on ebay. The prices these were commanding this morning were unbelievable. Buy one for $599 at Best Buy or wherever, turn around and get $2-4,000 on ebay? Not a bad profit.

I talked to two people. They each bought one and sold them for $4500 a piece. Then, they went and bought a couple games, sold them for over $200 each. Easy money for them. I also read that some people were getting robbed in lines and some people even got shot (or shot at).

360 vs. PS3

Post by Jack »

Stick with the 360 until about 2008. By that time the game developers will have had time to catch up to the amazing power the PS3 has to offer and the 360 will no longer be able to compare.

Heck, I've still got my Nintendo 8-bit NES system and my Atari 2600 from the early 80's :)

Dito. My 5200 is still ready to go, just can't find any working joysticks.

IS, check ebay. Typing in "atari 5200 joystick", there were a few results. It's where I found a working 2600 (with 100+ games) back in '99.

If you played the Atari 2600, you remember the old paddle controls and how they'd get "jumpy" after awhile. We used to have to take the back panel off them and use electrical contact cleaner every few months. Worked like a charm.

Man, now I'm nostalgic and want to play some Super Breakout.

Thanks for the tip Lee. Those joysticks just didn't last back then. I'm bustin the back panels off the next time I get home. First play will be Dig Dug, followed by Centipede.
