Becca MacRostie was on our summer team - I think she is the best junior goaltender in the sate and hope she gets her recognition while playing for the Blades shes is a great kid, tremendous athlete and real leader.

CEC 2, HM 1 - last minute thirty of OT. #13, #7, & #20 G from CEC impressed me. #7, #11, #12, #21, #22, & #30 G from HM impressed me.

HM has a much stronger team each time I watch them, this was the third time I've seen them play this year. Saw the whole game, and they will give many of the best teams a run for their $$$ as was evident tonight against #5AA CEC.

Silver Bay outshot Superior by a wide margin, but couldn't score. Superior sure surprised me, though. They have several really nice players, and they take good advantage of their big rink.

I would hope that this game ahs been rescheduled. If a forfiet that is wrong for EP under the circumstances. I think they made the right decision to PPD the game with the situation being what it was. Any other decision would have been wrong.

The game is listed as postponed on the Lake Conference website. Good decision. I am sure neither team wanted a forfiet.

Did BSM have to count this as a JV game? That's what we had to do when we played SSM U16 on Tue as that was what the MSHSL specified. I believe the SSM Prep is considered the V by MSHSL standards and U16 the JV.[/quote]

Can you fill in folks on how the U16's Shattuck girls compared with others you faced - I understand some of Shattuck's top U16's aged kids play on their U19's - so I was wondering how the Shattuck U16's compared to MSHSL teams. Sorry if you posted on this and I missed it.

SSM U16 was the best HS team I've seen as a HS coach besides maybe SSM Prep (U19), EP, and SSP of past seasons. They outshot us about 40 to 20 and had 4 quality D, 2 very solid 1st 2 lines, and 2 additional lines (lines 3 & 4) that I would say are average HS lines on any team in the state. They played the Walser AAA teams this fall and had mixed results against them (L 4-1 vs U19, T 1-1 vs U16) and also played the HS High Performance T2 teams and beat/tied most of them I believe?

I also think we'll see some more HS teams start to play the SSM U16 team more as it is probably as good as many top HS teams in the state. I think they get 5 games a year against HS competition, and I expect some HS coaches to pick up these games next season & beyond.

Just saw an excellent hockey game:

Wayzata 4, Armstrong 3

Very even overall with Armstrong outshooting Wayzata slightly, 25-21. Armstrong's first power play unit is excellent, as they play five forwards and move the puck as good as you'll see, but Wayzata took advantage of one miscue and scored a big shorthanded goal to go ahead 3-1. This was the turning point of the game as it came just after Armstrong narrowly missed on two great scoring opportunities.

ssp scored early and the game was 1-0 until the middle of the third. sibley battled very hard despite having 3 very good players out. can't wait to see these two teams play again if/when gets all their players back.
