Brainerd...Underrated??

Post by nhl06 »

Just wanna get some thoughts!!

Beating Elk River 2-1 at home
Tying GR 2-2 in Rapids (with patrick white contributing)
Currently 3-0-1

Landon Snider allowed 3 goals on 68 shots in those two games!! He gets no recognition, its about time to put him in the league of Leis, Ellingson, etc....

Patrick reinjured his ankle in the 1st period. So Brainerd tied Rapids when basically Rapids was without their first line. Senior forward Zach Morse is out of state for a death in the family.

NHL 06, I think Brainerd is capable of beating anyone in 7AA, but it takes some bounces. Year in and year out they get a nice win or two in December and flop in Sections every year. Tonight Brainerd played the heck out of two lines. You have to have 3 solid lines to compete in 7AA.

Let's see how Brainerd handles CEC and East. If Brainerd avoids going 0-3 in there I'll believe they have an okay shot. Snyder is a great goalie btw.

Third line wont produce many goals, but they work hard and play solid D

You know anything about Blackberry's??? Do you know anything about how technology makes it possible to communicate with someone on the otherside of the world in an instant. BTW, what benefit would it be to me to say I'm from Anchorage if I wasn't???

Lets hope the helmets don't get to tight for the boys in blue just yet :? there's lot of season left :-$

Ratings don't matter until February :!:

This team will have to play hard each and every game (no let downs) to get any respect (from 7AA) 8)

You reap what you sow :)

This team is pretty good, but they still dont have enough to step over the hump of section 7AA. There are arguably 3 or 4 teams that are better than brainerd...and 2 clear cut ones in east and cloquet...i would be surprised to see this team do much..

How about this. I posted a picture of my State ticket from last year, the GR logo off of my jersey, and the house my family is building in bird creek, AK on my Dad's business web site, alaskalogstructures.com

PS- "GR19" is in honor of Grand Rapids 1997 Mr. Hockey Aaron Miskovich.

I wouldn't explain myself to him. He's being intentionally dense. Or maybe not so intentional.

nhl06, how many different names are you going to try coming back under?

GR19, some of the Shady Bunch have confirmed your living in AK to me. I respect your tribute to Aaron. Where is Misky these days? I was friends with his brother Peter

I'm not sure where Aaron is at. The year Peter was a senior and Aaron was a sophmore, had they got by Spehar and East in the final I'm convinced they would have won it all that year, 94-95. Their last two home games, back to back agains Roseau and Warroad they won 9-1 and 8-0.

East was unreal that year. I know because, that was my senior year, and
East beat us in the Semi's at Grand Rapids 8-1. Rapids was good too, we lost to them early in the year 5-3 Brainerd is a much different team now, they play so hard. Ty Eigner is a very good coach.

Brainerd is defintely a hockey club on the rise. They're much better than they used to be. Is the town of Brainerd getting into hockey more than they used to be? I know the year they played GR at the DECC there were only about 400 Brainerd fans there. It would be nice if they'd bring half the town like GR/CEC/East do. Seems like they're students are getting into it more anyways. I'd like to see Brainerd upset CEC and or East along the way. However it will work to get CEC and East playing each other in the semifinals is what I'm favorable for.
