A peewee two years ago
I see alot of people when talking about an A bantam team, referring to the A peewee record from 2 years ago. What percentage of kids on a A peewee team actually make the A bantam team two years down the road, and is it really a good benchmark for that bantam team? I would think that the turnover would be significant, especially in the larger associations. No judgements, just curious.
In larger associations, where not too many kids move up to high school I would guess 80% or higher (or 12min. of 15 skaters) of the peewee kids make Bantam A. I believe it is a very good judgement of the larger associations. In some of the smaller assoc. i think it varies a lot more. Usually not as strong as the Peewee team because the lose kids in the 9th grade to HS programs?

Thats interesting to me, I would have thought that the larger associations would have more turnover, to assume that the best 15 kids as 12-13 year olds would be the best 15 as 14-15 year olds is suprising. I would have assumed that the smaller associations would see the same kids every 2 years. Interesting, is that the trend that most of you see, that the majority of the kids on PWA, become Bantam A? You would assume in a association with 40 or more kids at that level there would some leapfrogging going on. I know I was talking to a guy in Lakevile, and he said only 2 kids from Squirt A played Bantam A
Would like to hear what others think? I know from Squirts A's to BantamA's there is a larger % of turnover. Kids drop out and grow! The lakeville situation may have been because at the time there were only 15 Squirt A players because they only had 1 Team. Now they have 2 Bantam A teams so it makes sense the number who played squirt A's on one of the teams is that small. ??
