Are you two kidding me? Armstrong beat Anoka 4-1. Blaine just played Armstrong and came out on top 8-3 and one more was taken from them. Armstrong is a joke, and if Anoka can't stick with them they have a surprise waiting for them on Saturday. Good luck boys, you'll be gettin' an earfull from me front row at Fogerty.

Well bigsexy congratulations to blaine on the Armstrong victory but you cannot consider your self a quality team going into over time with teams such as Champlain Park and Theif River Falls both games especially the TRF game, Blaine was LUCKY to come out on top TRF had a wide open shot upper corner and missed the net. But as for Anoka vs. Armstrong, Anoka's bus didnt show up so players had to drive to the game and got their about 15 mins before warm ups they came out flat and still dominated the falcons 5 on 5 but their were 17 penalties in the game and it was turned into a game of special teams this is also noted by another neutral source on W www.gopherpuck.blogspot.com O'neill Anoka's best player was in the box half of the game and was limited to very little. Wells, Anoka's backup goalie played that game but it was a loss. If the Bengals think that Saturday is theirs they need to check around because they aren't very good their offense is solid but their D are slow and goalies are terrible! Anoka will win the section this year!

Blaine will come out on top... by a lot.

Blaine - 6
Anoka- 2

Anoka's team just doesn't compare to Blaines, and Armstrong is better than Anoka and they lost to Blaine by a lot, look for Anoka to get owned.

Stars67, it's nice to see someone is really doing their homework here and I will give you the point that the CP and TRF games shouldn't have been so close. However, I don't care if Anoka had to walk to the rink and skate straight into the game, they shouldn't lose that game. Also you could have taken Beaduette and Lynch into the box for the entire game and the game is no different. The defense is young and is still learning the quality of the varsity game and tight referring is the only reason we lost to Cloquet. Also, the goaltending is no worse than it was last year, (sorry Scotty) which is why we will be section champs and no more. If we have to beat Anoka 7-5 we will do it.

Ben Lynch is God (no self-promo, just stating the facts)

If you're going to list Anoka's players why don't you list Blaine's... I believe they had 6 or 7 players in Elite 1 with 4 - 6 of them playing in the NIT?

And I dont believe Anoka deserves that spot in the Metro Rankings. Just my opinion.

I haven't heard anyone who can give me an actual reason why Anoka is better than Blaine. All I hear is that Blaine is overrated. Lets stop a second. The bengals are 4-2. Their two losses are to 2 top 10 teams in the state in CEC and Roseau. Anoka beat MG, North Metro and Wayzata and lost to Armstrong. Tell me why we should be worried

Big Sexy wanna know why blaine should be scared? It is true that blaines loses were to good teams but their wins have been in OT against CP and TRF. They only beat Osseo by 2. They just smoked Armstrong which is good for them....So yes be confident because you guys do have a better team than anoka, but be a little scared

This should be another good game between two good teams. Good to see Blaine is getting their offense going and getting scoring from the 3rd/4th line players. Even though some are saying they "barely beat" CP and TRF, they have been putting up 35-40 shots/game but just haven't been going in - credit to both of those teams goalies as well. Blaine's defense is hardly slow, inexperienced maybe, but not slow. And all three of their goalies have played well. This should be a very fast and entertaining game.

Blaine - 4
Anoka -3

blaine/anoka

Post by cheapshot »

Lets hope it is a good game but my feeling is that the bengals will be too much for anoka and win by a few. goaltending will be in blaine's favor as is the depth..... i am hoping that it will be a full house in blaine on saturday nite. Look forward to seeing two very good teams.

It's going to be a battle between the first two lines.

Lynch Johnson Bayer vs. Olson O'Neill Scott

Shaber Beaduette Frishmon vs. Belisle Noonan Rush

I'd say there pretty close. Both are very fast, crafty, and all can put the puck in the net.

Anoka 6 Coon Rapids 2

Post by hockey59 »

Anoka's record goes to 5-1 with a 6-2 victory over Coon Rapids.

Belisle, O'Neill, O'Neill (short-handed), Belisle, Belisle, Scott (short-handed). Noonan and Rush with assists.

Lesmeister, Campbell, Setterberg and Manthey solid and physical on D.

Eason solid in goal.

It will be a fun, up and down, speed game on Saturday featuring some of the most explosive skater's in the Metro.

Blaine 5-1 over Andover

Lynch and Beaudette took over the game, will do the same on Sat.

Schaber is also beginning to play like he is capable of

Can't wait to see Blaine show they are still the power of the NWSC on Sat.

Lots of Belisle, Oneil action going on. Find it hard to beleive Blaine will be able to stop both of them when there on seperate lines. Baudette couldn't do anything against Anoka last year against Anoka's same defense. I'm taking Anoka 4-3. Blaines not any better than last years team, and only beat Anoka somewhere aroun 6-3 last year. Anoka's team this year is more than double what it was last year.

I think Anoka will surprise a lot of people on Saturday. Their powerplay has been pretty solid in the last few games.

Blaine wins 6-4

Blaine doesnt have much defense, but their offensive power will prevail as long as they capitalize on their opportunities that they Will create.

Only time will tell on this one. 2 very evenly matched teams but I think a hot Anoka team will just be too much for the struggling Bengals

I noticed some one saying that Blaine won't be able to stop the fire power of Anoka's offence with O'neill and Belisle, Blaine had 4 forwards that made it farther than O'neill during the Upper Midwest High School Elite League. And I noticed in a post earlier in this topic they are on seperate lines. That should be the key in this one and I expect Blaine to put up a lot of shots.
