They're a very young team, dominated by sophmores and juniors. In the opening game over half the team was seeing their first varsity action. That was the only game they got "thumped". But they're getting their feet under them.
WBL is playing better and will continue to get better as there young players learn how to be varsity players and not bantams. It has nothing to do with the competition as somebody on here wants to suggest. Those young players will have learned quite a bit by playing the schedule they did early on and taking that knowledge and transforming it to their game. That being said I think woodbury will give them all they want this week and roseville has to much skill for the bears to compete with.

Putney, Villnueve, and Swanson are all contributing nicely as sophomores. The Bears can play with anybody in the state if they stay out of the box. I didn't see the Moorhead or Fargo south games, but other than that 5 on 5 they can hang with anyone. This is a good team and if they played a cupcake early schedule like some of the privates do they would be in the top 10.

Moorhead, Duluth East, Cloquet, White Bear and many other public schools play the toughest non-conference and early schedules in the state. Not a shot, just the facts.
